I just finished Bone Rider and it was FANTASTIC! What a great action/adventure/romance! Can't recommend it highly enough :)
Eli Easton, this weekend - Superhero and Blame it on the Mistletoe - i really enjoyed them, sweet, light, and fun. With both i felt i'd have wanted the story to continue just a bit more.

I finished My Rugby-Playing Twink by Jaime Samms this morning. It was surprisingly deep despite the lighthearted title. A nice surprise.Just started Hound Dog & Bean by B.G. Thomas.

Interesting that others think there's a cliffhanger ending. I didn't find that to be the case at all. I think it ends in quite a reasonable way. The second one also ends in a sensible spot, so no cliffhanger worries there.

Hmm. Sometimes I think a surprising number of readers don't know the difference between "series" and "cliff hanger." The first book is not a cliff hanger. It's the first book in a series, so some things are resolved and some things are not. The story deepens, the plot grows more complicated, and we move to the next square on the game board. :-)

Absolutely there are! Sometimes you need a break. Two Decembers ago I was reading mysteries from the 30s and 40s. It was all I seemed to be able to enjoy.

It's probably one reason though that I turned to novellas and short stories and fan fiction because those stories tend to be shorter (on average) than a novel.

I've been on a roll with three EXCELLENT books back to back, each from authors I'd previously never heard of. This last one was Freedom by Jay Kirkpatrick. Highly recommended for those that aren't already overwhelmed with their TBR's :)

I've read the one Josh book I'm allowing myself each month (although I did itch to start reading the second book straight away!)
And the next Magpie Lord book is due out soon. Maybe I will read that one then.

lol. But I still really like the idea of my UKMeet list. But because there are so many books on it, I have to read a bunch of them every month if I hope to get them all done by June. *crosses fingers*
Aside from that, I still have a bunch of print books on piles on my coffee table to read each month, some are MM and some are not. There's a wide variety there. So many books! So little time! lol.

Ooh I like the idea of a UK meet list. I'll have to see which other authors are going in June and compile a list of ones I've not read. Maybe I'll do that for April.

I have so many other books to read that I can afford to stretch Josh's books out. Although if a sequel to Snowball came out I'd be all over that in an instant!

I'm currently in the mood for some N.R. Walker. I'm reading Clarity of Lines (love Tom and Cooper!) and then plan on reading Blindside and Breaking Point which I've been saving.

Btw, I second (or third) recommendation of Joanna Chambers' "Enlightenment" series. Thoroughly enjoyed the first two. Third one coming in May. The endings are not cliff hangers at all - in fact, you can tell the characters development direction from the installment titles :-)

I noticed that! I worry about books everyone else loves, because often I don't. That's why I'm yet to start the Cut and Run series, and I've been putting off The Magpie Lord (but that one's one THE list so it will be read very soon!)

That's why I usually picked the 2-3 stars reviews to read first when a book is popular.
See what potential problems it might have, whether I would have a problem with said problems ;-)
Also... I think it doesn't help when I see those glowing reviews with fireworks and colourful gifs... they just seem over-the-top and a bit fake to me.

They are very well written and seemingly historically correct (as far as I can see) and discuss the socio-political landscape in Scotland at the time in a manner I rarely find in romances, m/m or not, not only the situation of homosexuals at that age, but women's rights, workers' situation and so on which makes the books more interesting and better than average in my opinion.

I've got roughly 30 books on my UKMeet2014 list. So you might want to check the list of authors earlier than April! Of course, I'm also using this as an excuse (really, I shouldn't need one!) to read a lot of books I've owned for a few years but haven't gotten to. I'm ashamed to admit this, really. But it's true.

I do that too, I've noticed. I concentrate on the reviews by friends and those that are low to see what the problems could be.
And I also hate gif reviews. Most reviews with a picture, are annoying. Very few I find are appropriate and likeable.
So many people love Cut and Run. I hated it. So much I took it off my lists. But then someone kept recommending each book as they read them, and I had to add the first one to my list and review it so I would stop getting recommendations to read it.

It's more annoying than having a will of steel, actually. I have a few Josh books to read. Most of what came out last year and one much older book. It's really just that I for some reason didn't get the time to read them. Too many books on the TBR pile, and I'm trying to be diverse in my reading and not just read one author.
But, having things come out in audio might help. The older book will be listened to soon. Otherwise, with my UK list, it'll take me forever to get to it.
I just wish I had the time to read them all along with everything else I'm trying to get into!

I've tried to get into the series twice -- maybe three times. I think the stories are better written than many in the genre, but it just doesn't click for me. I'm fascinated by the loyalty it inspires though!

I thought the first two have a more solid mystery/thriller plot, the romance took centre stage afterwards and the series got fluffier. And to be honest, I struggled to distinguish between the two MCs, kind of why I lost interest in later books.
