Love this series, and it gets better with each book.

I'm waiting for some forest destruction to happen, that is I'm going to buy the paperback ;-), it should be there quite soon...

Jordan was so nice to let me know that also the dead tree version is up, for ex. on amazon US

KJ Charles's Proper English (f/f, and also has a m/m subplot) - loved every word! So well done. And I really liked the mystery.
T. Kingfisher's Clockwork Boys (fantasy, book 1 in duology) - again, loved every word. It's a quest type of fantasy (at least the first book), for which usually i don't have much patience these days, but I adored the characters and i'm really enjoying her sense of humor. Also that everything is to the point and so easy to visualize.

... but it will be published on the 7th July.

There are 15 stories in it, one by Ginn Hale.

Here their 2020 Over The Rainbow Fiction Longlist, which includes the anthology mentioned above.
I’m back to, hopefully, finishing Lies Sleeping by Ben Aaronovitch. I’m at around 50% now, so we’ll see how it goes. It was supposed to be a 2019 read, that just didn’t happen. Sigh.

Me too/two!"
Me not three ;-), because I haven't even re-read anything.
And if I re-read, maybe I could also wait for the print edition?

I've been meaning to get it, but I haven't yet. There have been so many exciting new books lately. I still haven't read her new book, alas.
Next year, in 2021, I’m planning to reread the Lord of the White Hell books, then finally move on to the following two duologies. She says the final book should be releasing later this year, which is why I’m waiting until it’s complete. I just can’t read the second set until I reread the first, so might as well do them all at once.
I’m not planning a reread for this one, but I’m a bit behind on a couple of books, so it might be a few days before I get to it.

Aww. Thank you, MyMymble. I hope people do enjoy it and say so.

Just bought this. It sounded good and I liked the title. Glad to hear you enjoyed it. :)

I finished Tamsyn Muir's Gideon the Ninth the other day and it was quite a ride. It took me ages to read (reading slump), but it was very cool and super imaginative and quite queer. One of my favourite covers ever. I'm excited for the second book.

It looks as if the second book picks up where the first left off and it doesn't not appear to stand alone. Looks like we won't have long to wait, though--June is not far away. But book three just says 2021, so who knows about that one.

I listened to the audiobook, and then bought a hardcover copy. The differentiation of voices in the audiobook helped me follow the many characters and complex plot. A very well read audiobook and fabulous book cover. The book is listed in the article Antonella shared a few days ago on I Heard a Rumor: Book News and Gossip. https://www.theguardian.com/books/202...? Thanks, Tor.com.

Tor is really bringing their A-game with the queer fantasy lately. Right on!
I switched from Lies Sleeping in ebook to the audiobook, and now we’re moving right along. I should have done this from the start!

From that list I bought

:) I think Aaronvitch in audiobook is the way to go. Kobna Holdbrook-Smith is amazing!

I’m not sure why I bought the ebook. I switched at 50% yesterday morning and finished it around 11pm last night. I do think the story picked up at that point though and became more interesting, which helped, as well as being able to listen while I commuted to work.
I do really like the narrator, he’s great, which was part of my reason for switching, as well as the fact that my library had it available right away. :-)

So I've now finally started my January must-read title, after finishing my last 2019 must-read title yesterday! This is a yearly challenge I do to read 12 books I've had awhile. So, my new book was a gift awhile back and so far it's pretty good. It's a Sherlock Holmes retelling with supernatural themes as a YA historical novel set in New England: Jackaby. I have the first two books in the series, so we'll see how far I get, but at least for this year, I'd like to read the first one.
So far, it's pretty good.

And then at the end of the book I discovered that this author also writes urban fantasy: The Tenants of 7C.

Damn it; now I've got that One Night in Bangkok ear-worm again.

I keep hearing good things about T. Kingfisher. I must give them a try.

I've read Minor Mage and I loved it.

Added to my to-read list. Thank you for the recommendation, KC!

And now same here, LOL.

Anyway, the book is fantastic, and even more so if one considers that it was written in 1972. Highly recommended. It's spy/suspense with a gay MC who's awesome.

I agree with you on all accounts.
I also tried to find something else by Bentley, but to no avail.
Let us know if your research bears fruit, please!

I second—third?—everything what you said about Here There Be Dragons, KC! And just like Antonella, I would love to hear if you manage to find those short stories.

Here the buy links.
I'm light-years behind with my reading...
And today I received

This was a great book! I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

Bitter Pill is really great, it brings some characters back that we had not seen in some time. I liked it a little more than Murder House.
I just finished The Man Who Told the World, the third book in the Sing Out series. It is set during a fictional version of American Idol and seeing how such a show works backstage was very interesting. The love interest starts out as a bully and it felt really believable why the MC falls for him despite that and his redemption arc was slow and earned. The books are among my favorites now.
And next up for me is The Wolf at Bay, through I haven't started yet, but I am very excited.
