I was going to write that I'm turning slightly green and then wasn't so sure if green is associated with envy in English. ;) Anyway, happy reading, Ije, I'm looking forward to this one! :-)

You can definitely "be green with envy," Calathea, not to worry! :) You can also be green for other reasons. Like if you're turning green, it can be because you feel sick.

I, too, am envious of Ije! :)

Alison | 4756 comments I finished up a great mainstream fantasy trilogy last week--V.E. Schwab's Shades of Magic series--and it was great! The first book is A Darker Shade of Magic. It's a very cool series about parallel Londons and magic and the people who can travel between worlds. It's not m/m, but there are two romantic subplots (one het, one queer) and there are awesome queer characters and POC. The world-building is very cool and the magic system is also very cool. The whole series is cool and I really enjoyed it.

Susinok | 5205 comments Josh wrote: "What do you think of Joel Leslie as a narrator? I've been considering using him for a project...."

I really like his works! I've bought a few books I'd otherwise have skipped because he narrated. I would heartily recommend Marshall Thornton's Femme as a great example.

He also did Hemovore by Jordan Castillo Price, and he's great with accents, actually doing a fantastic job or Alexis Hall with the Billionaire books. How to Bang a Billionaire

I've listened to three books Joel has narrated: 1) Romancing the Ugly Duckling by Clare London; 2) Cronin's Key by N.R. Walker; and 3) How to Bang a Billionaire by Alexis Hall. I was SO impressed with him in all of them. If you didn't know it, you'd swear there is more than one person voicing these books. I thought his work on Cronin's Key was one of the best audio performances I've ever heard (certainly near the top), but he surpassed with with his work on How to Bang a Billionaire. I know Joel personally from GRL and he's a really nice person.

Is t Working It a Lambda finalist?

I looked through the romance finalists and was really disappointed in their selections. Most of it was things no one’s read, or if they did, most of the, hated it, here on GR. So odd. Proof, I think, that even awards are subjective.

I read this in the past week. I really liked the way it was written, especially for the first 60-75%. I enjoyed how Nolan kept exceeding Zack's expectations when they were still so unsure of each other, but hoping for more. What did you think?

Joel Leslie also narrated Red Dirt Heart by N.R. Walker and several other books of her. Also Mark Cooper vs America by Lisa Henry. Really good so I totally recommend him.

I'm liking it so far. I liked seeing the change in Zack from in the office to out of the office, as well as his coming to rely on Nolan at work.

His Quiet Agent by Ada Maria Soto just released in audiobook!

I sampled it first. The narrator is ok, he’s a bit loud, but otherwise, I guess ok. I bought it anyway, since I was hoping for it in audio, and I didn’t think it would ever happen.

Currently listening to Skin After Skin sporadically, with about nine hours to go! It’ll be awhile before I get to anything else. Lol.
