Oh, wow! Thank you for mentioning it. It will be out end of this month and I didn't know at all about it.

There are a few paragraphs of a teaser on her blog if you want to check it out: https://harperfoxblog.wordpress.com/2...
For Ginn Hale's lovers: her book
will be out only on the 3rd October, but you can hear her reading (!) bits of two out of three stories. I put up the links here: http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/1...
I just started reading Nimona this morning. I'm seriously irritated by the fact that before I could finish it, I had to stop and get ready for work. I'm about 30 pages away from the ending! GAH!!!
But, seriously, I'm LOVING THIS!!! And I'm seriously shipping the evil villain and the hero. They have to be an item by the end. They have to be.
Anyway, if you like fantasy, I think you should read this graphic novel. Depending on how it ends, I might have to buy myself a copy, that's how much I'm enjoying this. :-D

I read the first two LumberJanes, and they were good, but Nimona was better. :-)

Nimona is WONDERFUL! The Lumberjanes... there's something nice about them, and they're fun, but I wouldn't reread them, for example. I did like how some of the relationships developed.

I agree. I think Sexton is a really solid performer who doesn't get enough attention.

This should be VERY intriguing. It's something she write years ago but decided to rework and expand. So I think it will be very exciting.

What's even more sad, is that I don't think I've read anything by her... yet. I'm planning to change that next year. :-)

Jordan Castillo Price has published a deleted scene from the Mnevermind Trilogy:To set up the scene for those of you who haven't read the Mnevermind Trilogy, this bit is from Elijah's point of view, and he's on the autism spectrum. It's his first time asking out another guy and he is sure he'll manage to do it wrong.
I am immetsed in a trilogy by Ann Leckie at the moment, the first book being Ancillary Justice. It's sci-fi not a romance, extremely well written. She has some interesting takes on gender for instance and it is a sweeping epic story. If you like sci-fi I recommend it whole heartedly.

The first one was especially stunning because you get to know this particular culture for the first time. :)
There are also audiobooks which I liked a lot. For the full effect I'd suggest going with the written word in the beginning.
Calathea wrote: "Anne wrote: "I am immetsed in a trilogy by Ann Leckie at the moment, the first book being Ancillary Justice. It's sci-fi not a romance, extremely well written. She has some interest..."I might use audio for a reread in a year or two, because I definitely want to revisit later.
Also reading Ancillary Justice now, and looking forward to the rest of the trilogy, thank you, Calathea, for bringing it to my attention :-) And it's cool that several of us are reading it at the same time more or less. I like when that happens. I don't usually read SF so it was awesome to become so thoroughly immersed in the story.
I keep hearing good things about that series and I've been meaning to check it out for a while. I'm glad so many of you are enjoying it. That's always a good sign.

It's terrible, isn't? :)
I just finished reading Evenfall: Volume 1: Director's Cut last night. OMG, so much dark emotions! I had some issues with the book, namely with the training the MC was given and then the missions he had to do, but otherwise, I got sucked in and had a hard time putting it down yesterday until I'd finished it. I'm taking an emotional break from it for a couple of books before I dive back in for the second part: Evenfall: Volume 2: Director's Cut.
I can't believe how slow build their relationship is, just when I think they're going to get together, finally, something happens and they don't. Good stuff here. But, it's dark. Lots of abuse mentioned and some on page, just a warning.

NOTHING.
Not a damned thing.
But I have a very long flight to Ottawa in my immediate future, so I will be reading a lot quite soon.

Long flights are only survivable if you have a lot of reading material :)

It was good. Still had some minor edits that were needed, but overall, it was good. I really enjoyed it.

I agree. I just returned from a conference in Vancouver. The flight is about 9/10 hours each way and I managed to read quite a bit. I was distracted by the inflight entertainment though. There is just so much to choose from including audiobooks :)
I should mention that I'll be starting Darktown either tonight or tomorrow for one of my book groups. I'm super excited. It's a murder mystery set in Atlanta when they hired their first black police officers!!!
A flurry of new publications by Manifold. I'd like to mention in particular Calon Lan by Elin Gregory and Call to Arms: Modern LGBTQ+ fiction of the Second World War, which will be out on the 1st November.Further: I had completely missed A Time to Keep and forgotten Like People.

I know it only came out yesterday (thanks for posting, Antonella!) but... has anybody read it yet and can tell me if it ends at an end or if it's just a break in the story until part 2 comes out...?
At the Audible sale I bought Will Grayson, Will Grayson and Last Seen Leaving. I have to say I've spent money on worse things than those two books. I finished the first one, it was hilarious delight and I'm halfway through the second one and it is so good. Really like the mystery even if it's YA.

I read it yesterday. This is definitely a trilogy. The ending is a natural break in the story, but not the end of the story. Book 2 is out mid-December and 3 is promised in March 2018.

Thank you, Karen! I started reading (despite telling myself to wait until all parts are out) so it's a relieve to know that it's a natural break.
If you haven't read Last Seen Leaving I recommend you do. I loved the coming of age storyline and I loved the crime plot. Really one of the best books I read this year. Considering this is the author's debut story he seems seriously talented. Can't wait for his next work.

And this podcast made by Austin Chant and Amanda Jean looks interesting in general, here all the episodes: https://thehopelessromantic.simplecas...
Reading at the moment KJ Charles' An Unsuitable Heir and Ann Leckie's Ancillary Sword, and so far they're both awesome.
Didn't realize In The Company Of Shadows is one continuous story until I finished book one last night. But I don't have time to continue it right now. Boo! So frustrating because I need to know what happens next!
Seen thanks to Ginn Hale: Nnedi Okorafor and the Fantasy Genre She Is Helping Redefine
IMO people could refrain from definitions like: a dark, sprawling epic that some fans and readers have labeled the “Nigerian Harry Potter.” Anyway it is a *Henrietta* Potter...
Akata Witch 4.05 average rating, Akata Warrior 4.33.
I'm finally reading
and loving it. I kept finding it mentioned in reviews of trans books, along the lines of: «This book is just ok/not ok, you should read ''Nevada'' by Imogen Binnie». Now I see why: Nevada is witty, believable, and sounds like real life. I just hope that it ends (relatively) well.

I've been meaning to read that for ages. I'm glad to hear you are loving it. I, too, hope that feeling continues. :)
