I'm proud of myself because I managed to stop reading at 80%, also because it was 3 a.m. In fact I had already tried to stop once at 2 a.m. ;-)

KC | 4897 comments Read T. Neilson's The Forest for the Trees. It's a quiet, beautiful story. And i like that the author explores different genres. I really enjoyed The Glass-House Murder (mystery).

I'm currently reading The Like Switch: An Ex-FBI Agent’s Guide to Influencing, Attracting, and Winning People Over. It's very interesting!

I thought it would be good for me to know personally, and now I'm thinking about it also in terms of my novel's characters.

The Bridgerton series is so much fun! I absolutely loved it. I read it many years ago so I could actually do with a re-read. Do you mean the new prequel series? I've been meaning to read that one. I've put it on my library list, so maybe I'll get to it soon. :)

I loved it. It's one of those sweet, warm stories, that even though you know where it's going, is worth the journey. Lovely descriptions of back-country Canada and ranch life.

KC | 4897 comments Read Eli Easton's Snowblind. The "stuck in a cabin in the mountains in a snowstorm" trope is a favorite of mine, so i was expecting a cozy romance. It was, but it was also not. Couldn't put the book down. Even with some small niggles, it was quite awesome.

I also found a new and promising historical mystery: Death Comes Darkly. So far - a couple of chapters in - it's good.

I'm at the 50% point in Snowblind. I didn't read the reviews, just went in with expectations similar to yours. Blindsided. But in a good way.

I'm kind of crazy about Common Law, the Kate Sherwood serial (a better description than series based on the very slow burn romantic side of the story arc). I've read Long Shadows, Embers, and just finished Darkness. It just hits all my "bad boy" buttons, and includes mysteries, small town shenanigans, going home again, (Canada) border trouble, and cops and robbers in love/lust/fixation. Book 4 is due for release April 4th.

Antonella | 11565 comments Holy cow! The paperback of Book 9 of the Administration Series Corpora Delicti (The Administration, #9) by Manna Francis is there since the 1st March and I've already missed one week in ordering it!

Manna writes:
Corpora Delicti is for sale on the Book Depository. They do free shipping to most countries. (BTW, that’s an affiliate link which will give me a tiny cut of each sale.)

If you are in the USA please order from the publisher. It should show up pretty soon in all the places that have the rest of the series.
Excerpt from Chapter 1

If you want to get addicted for free, read the almost complete series on the Mannazone.

I also love the Casperian paperbacks of this series. I just ordered Book 9, but I'm a bit behind like Alison. Book 8 has been sitting by my bedside for quite awhile. Happily, our spring break comes up at the end of this month, so maybe I'll make time for both. These are books I can't just race through. I read the rest of the series one summer and listened to the (Portland, Oregon band) The Thermals while reading, and now they're oddly, but inextricably stuck in my mind. When I hear "Never Listen to Me" I revisit the books. There's no particular correlation (or what there is makes sense only to me), just one of those serendipitously constructed associations. :)

Alison | 4756 comments I read Rainbow Rowell's Carry On and it's fantastic. It's a neat idea--her book Fangirl is about a uni student who writes fanfic (of which there are many excerpts), and Carry On is that fanfic in full and it's awesome. The fanfic excerpts were one of my favourite things about Fangirl and I was stoked when I saw she had written the whole fic. It's fanfic of a fictional series, which is kind of a fun idea.

So the book is a queer YA fantasy romance adventure and it's delightful and fun. The world (a magic school) is very cool, the characters are fun, the plot is exciting, and the romance is cute. I enjoyed this so much and I recommend it if you're looking for something light-hearted and fun and comfy and amusing and full of magic. It doesn't take itself too seriously and messes with a lot of fantasy tropes in a neat way. This is hugely engaging, but also really "easy," so it's a great way to spend a pleasant Sunday afternoon (which is when I read it). This is one of the most enjoyable YA fantasies I've read for a while.
