Just read about it through KJC's facebook. She's got titles and a summary of her story here: http://us11.campaign-archive2.com/?u=...

LOL. You always beat me to posting JCP news. :-)

This list sounds promising, indeed.

I've never read anything by Cousins, barring what I thought was one of the very best essays of that grand slam Love is Love collection of essays last year.

She's good. The series is all new adult folks on campus, though this latest is after the hero graduates, still reletivly young protagonists.

Off Campus is the first in the series, and I thought the set up of the two heroes was really cool. Tom's dad stole a ton of money in a ponzi scheme, and Tom tries to finish college. Goes from rich to poor and humiliated. He was a great character.

As Karen wrote, the 4th and - I add - last installment of Mr. Sykes and the Noble Muse is there. So maybe now you can read it.

Ah well, different strokes. I found it highly entertaining, with some lovely scenes showing Simon and Dec dealing with friends, family, and various strange events. But except for the road trip, I suppose you could say that nothing much really HAPPENED. My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

KC | 4897 comments I read In the Middle of Somewhere. It's beautiful if a bit on the long side, but given my lack of patience lately, it's probably me, and what i mean is, it's a slow-building type thing which was great, but needs a bit of patience. It's worth it though. Great characterization, and a lovely way with words, some humor too. It's the first novel by this author and i'm looking forward to whatever she writes next.

Then I started two mysteries: The Hired Man and Blackmail, My Love: A Murder Mystery. Both very good so far.

Judy Stone | 378 comments Just finished NO MATE OF MINE by Lisa Oliver, and then HAD to purchase and read the rest of her Bounded and Bonded series. Amazing! I get twitchy about graphic violence, inflicted pain and misery, and brutality. Any abuse, be it physical or emotional, has me whimpering and freaking the hell out. Her books briefly touch on these things, off page, and I didn't curl into a miserable ball. I enjoyed them...surprised the hell out of myself...didn't think I could handle BDSM in any form.

In the past, the ebooks came out long after the work was available online and in print.

I received my print copy last week, but I'm saving it… : )

In the past, I think I just copied everything she had on her website, enlarged the font to something ginormous and saved it as a PDF for my kindle.

Can't wait for book eight! I thought we'd have to wait eons for this!

I'm about to finish The Caine Mutiny, finally. And I have to say the book is amazing! It took forever to get through 500+ pages, but so far, it was totally worth it. I've got a chapter and a half to go! But I'm stuck at work, so can't read more until later. *sigh*

Then, then, I get to start another Neil Plakcy book!!! Olives for the Stranger will be my book tonight when I get home. yay!!!

Candice Frook (cefrook) | 374 comments Hi, folks; I've been away for awhile. Have you guys been reading John Wiltshire? I like m/m historical and so read his A ROYAL AFFAIR 2 parter. I was impressed and so looked at his MORE HEAT THAN THE SUN series. For some reason I had been turned off by the blurb about it in the past. Anyway, I gave the first book a try, and WOW! That's LOVE IS A STRANGER. The second book is CONSCIOUS DECISIONS OF THE HEART. This series reminds me for its intensity and grab-you storytelling of Voinov's Special Forces books.

If you haven't tried him, you're in for a treat.

message 8845: by Alison (new)

Alison | 4756 comments I read Edie Danford's Uncovering Ray recently and I really liked it. It's about a gender neutral twenty-year old and I thought it was quite well done. This is not a book "about" gender and I particularly liked that about it. It's just someone's story of falling in love and being totally overwhelmed by it, and it's in first person POV. A couple of books I've read with gender neutral characters have had a lot of "instruction manual" information, which is fine and educational, but for me it really takes away from the story. There are no lectures in this book, which I appreciated. Ray's just Ray, no big explanations needed. I don't think there are all that many romancey books with a gender neutral main character, and that's actually why I bought it and it turned out to be quite good. I'm glad to see books like this getting published.
