What Are you Reading?

If it has text, definitely
Is it good? I'm thinking about getting a few new comics

And I spoiled it. :/
Okay, I hang on your version. =D

I think most depressing books (I read) are very good. Probably because there are more often the ones, that you can't forget and haunts you days after.
It's the time, when you need sweet little slice-of-life stories to have something fluffy again (which I avoid normaly). =)

:-)

I love Deadpool. He's irreverent, funny, and breaks the fourth wall as a matter of course. He's not for everyone but, yeah, he's one of my favs.

:-) It's a tidy little mystery. I liked writing those. I did a whole bunch of mystery novellas when I first started in M/M They were very quick and enjoyable to write. Now I usually either go longer or shorter.

I'll try something with him next time I have a GC to Amazon :D

It's a tough read.
Steps Going Down is classic, almost textbook, noir. For everyone in doubt as to what noir actually is, I highly recommend SGD. So many reviewers seem to think anything hardboiled or with a detective is noir. Nope. Noir is distinct and definite. Even neo noir is unmistakable when you know what you're looking for.

One of my fave college courses was about noir. We would read the books, then watch the film versions and compare them. I loved that class.
So now I'm really excited about SGD!

I'm rather excited because the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comics are getting bundled into really nice hardcovers, the way they did the originals. It's coming out next month. :-D

Cool. I still have a bunch of the old Mirage comics. (I least I think it was Mirage?)
ps I Love Raph.

I'm slowly making my way through the original comics in hardcover. I didn't know they started out as comics for a long time and they were only re released recently. I'm reading volume two of five. They're really big books, but very nicely done.
Leo was always my fave. On the other hand, my favorite quote that went into my HS yearbook was from Mike:
"Wise men say, forgiveness is devine, but never pay full price for late pizza." From the first live action movie. :-)

I am more of an Image and Marvel girl. But I have read the Arrow tie ins for the tv show. I have read good things for Gotham Academy, Bat Girl, Wonder Woman
If you want to try Image: Pretty Deadly, Bitch Planet, ODY-C, Saga, Rat Queens, and Shutter.

I have a bunch of the Green Arrow comics from the late eighties early nineties. They were marked for readers over eighteen. Sex, nudity, possibly swearing.

Yeah it's the Arrow and Flash shows that are getting me interested in DC more than any film has. I find myself wanting to know the comic origins and how they differ.
I'll take a look at the Image stuff, thanks.

Wow. What editions would they be? Not that I need comics to be x-rated but I like an informed decision. Hell, who am I trying to kid, I've bought comics based solely on the cover before.

For Green Arrow, I have issues 1-6 starting in Feb 88, then 12-20, and 25-... plus a book "Longbows". And on the cover they say "suggested for mature readers"
I haven't done any research on them, I simply bought them cause I liked them and now they have been hiding in the back of my closet for a million years.
It will be interesting to compare them to the TV show.

These ones https://www.comixology.co.uk/Green-Ar... ? Green Arrow looks like Robin Hood in these :)

Yes. That's them! And I loved Robin Hood which is why I started reading Green Arrow.
Every night the SO and I are watching a couple of episodes of 77 SUNSET STRIP.
It started out as a joke, but now we really look forward to them. :-D Funny how that happens.

I watched that as ages ago and loved it. :) And my aunt, when she was young, had watched and loved it, too. ;)

welcome after Marvel, Image is the taker of all the money. I am die hard X-men girl with Hawkeye and Captain Marvel getting into the mix

Not a typical romance at all, but if you don't read it, you'll miss a truly enjoyable reading experience. You're hereby advised :)

Ah, don't you love finding good books! I do :)

I really liked that book. I read it a couple of weeks ago.

Oh, I still have the sample of that one sitting on my Kindle. *moves it up the list*

Yes, last one. I think there will be more Sidewinder books (Nick & Kelly). Maybe Ty and Zane will show up in those. I don't know, I don't really follow that series. I still haven't read Cross & Crown.

Abi said so, I don't think she's quite evil enough to lie about something like that ;-)
I liked C & C

It's bit difficult to read the last book in the series, isn't it? I mean, never to read about the couple again, or any couple in series you like? I still totally support leaving it at that, it's never smart to reused some idea until everyone has gotten fed up with it. Still, it's bit bittersweet.
And I recommend the Sidewinder stories. They're fun. Not as full of angst as Cut & Run series.

After finishing I think I'm in the mood to re-listen to Fish & Chips. I wish the whole series was available in audio.
I read Shock & Awe. It was okay but there was no plot. ;-) I'll probably read C & C eventually, maybe before the next one is released.

I want audiobooks too, especially Stars and Stripes

Hmm I guess I should catch up. I haven't read the last one before this yet. Got pretty sick of Ty and Zane to be honest, but I would like to finish out the series.
I like Will and Taylor MUCH better!!!

Yes, I had the same impression!

I lost interest when she added some side characters from another series-- Warrior's Cross? I didn't really like them, so I stopped reading the main series.

I've seen Love is a Stranger recommended if you like Cut & Run series but I didn't care for it much at all and haven't continued with that series. Sometimes you just connect with the characters and/or writing, sometimes you don't.

In that case, never read an Abi book, because they're all set in the same 'verse and crossovers will happen ;-)
I loved the banter between Ty and Julian, but I don't like Cameron

Yeah, I figured it would just be a few words here and there, Danish and Swedish are closely related, but not as close as Danish and Norwegian.
If you do read it one day, feel free to ask for translations if you're in doubt.
