I read Forever Promised this weekend. I can see why one wouldn't care for it if one doesn't want to read about children, because children and family is what this book is all about. I have no problems with that, so I enjoyed it,and it did fit the stories in the books so far, it seemed like a natural point for the characters in the series to go IMO. I think she treated some difficult questions like surrogacy very insightful and well, not flinching away from the emotional challenges that has to raise for the people involved.
I read a really lovely book, Chase the Storm by V.M. Waitt. For a first novel, it was excellent. For a fourth novel it would have been excellent. About a young man striking out on his own to figure out who he is and what he wants out of life.

Argh... I haven't even read the Chapter 8 yet... how did this happen? For some reason I don't expect anyone else working either when I'm on vacation... but Josh really seems to be on a roll with his writing! Which is great, of course. :-)

I'm having similar difficulties with Wattpad. I first thought that it only happened with my iPad, but the situation isn't improving with my home computer. Wattpad doesn't allow me read all the pages of the Chapter 9, doesn't let me see the comments and so on. And when I use the links Josh and you guys have posted I keep getting this text:
"408 Request Time-out
Your browser didn't send a complete request in time."
Does this happen to anyone else? Everything worked just fine for the first 6 chapters (or so) of The Haunted Heart, but after that it has been rocky road for me...

No such problems for me. I've read it half past midnight last night after I got the e-mail from wattpad. Afterwards I sat in my bed and wondered how to find sleep... *creepy*
I've been reading on my android mobile but not through the app but the browser.
Finished Hoarded to Death, the sequel to Cited to Death. I thought it was a good low-key continuation from book 1, and I couldn't figure out the mystery easily, so that was a bonus. If you liked Cited to Death, you may also dig the sequel. I'm looking forward to book 3.And for Fanyons, there's a nice shout-out to Cloak and Dagger Books. :) The MC visits the store to sell some mysteries, but not in detail (so no quick sightings of a hot bookseller and his PI quietly looming in the background.) I do like the meme of self-referencing other m/m books though. It's kind of a fun game for readers.

I eventually managed to read all the four pages of Chapter 9 and even comment on it. So all is good now... except for the fact that I seem to be avoiding mirrors while walking around here at home... ;-)

And so lovely to see Mark and Stephen again. It is always fun to see persons you know from one angle (yes, I "know" them although they are fictional) from at completely different point of view.
I am in the mood for something silly. So I started Three Men in a Boat by Jerome K. Jerome. I read this 30 years ago and it was hilarious.

Very scary! chilling! That's the kind of thing that totally spooks me out in movies and stories. I'm very worried about what's gonna happen, and about Flynn. It *was* great to see Mark and Stephen again :)

I don't think Josh is mean enough to not let it end well in the end, but then, there might be different interpretations of "well" I guess. But it is a mark of a well written story that he can make us so worried :)
ETA: There were quite too many "wells" in that sentence, but I am too lazy to search for synonyms :)

So far it's as amusing as I remember.
And I should point out that, in my opinion, nobody does silly like the British. They have such an odd way of looking at things, and do little asides and, well, silly bits, that the Americans just don't do as well.Americans can do humor, but outright silliness is difficult. It can easily go overboard.

I love the Discworld series, though. I think Hogfather is my #1 favorite, but any of them are wonderful. Another one is coming out in October!

I hope I am not the only one who would purchase an entire mystery series just because they sounds cool and are .99 cents each. I bought the Bartholomew Gill mystery series set in Ireland. First book is The Death of an Irish Politician which I will be starting soon.
