What Are you Reading?
I read Adam Fitzroy's Stage Whispers this week and it was beautiful. It's a gentle love story between two actors that takes place over almost ten years and it's just lovely. I picked it up because it's somewhat a theatre romance (and I'm a theatre nerd) and I absolutely loved it. It's quiet and real and so compelling. These characters took over my heart in the best way over the past several days. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author (and re-reading this one someday).

We are such coffee addicts. We have a Cuisinart coffee maker, a stove top espresso maker, a Tassimo and I'm tempted to buy a French press. The Tassimo probably gets the most use because it's so quick and easy, but they recently discontinued DH's favorite espresso and his stockpile is dwindling.

I laughed at several moments in Caught! but the squrat wasn't one (I was too busy shuddering at what he thought it was). I'm really enjoying the book. And no, I've never heard of someone putting coleslaw on pizza. I think it was just because he was trying to encourage her to eat salad with it and that was the least salady thing to choose.

I like sipping the coffee throughout the morning.

I have a small French press which is the size of a mug. I love the fact that it is slightly more manual than other coffee maker.

That sounds promising. Although a story covering ten years is generally not going to work for me.

But it is not as complicated as it sounds, especially if you have some books with recipes ;-). And I don't cook like this all the time.

I enjoyed Caught!. Very cute and there were some LOL moments. :-)

This morning I started The Patron Saint of Lost Dogs. So far, it's really good. Though I didn't realize it was part of a series. It's book one, so at least I'm starting at the beginning! lol.
I'm giving up on The Wind in the Willows. It's very well written, but incredibly boring.
So now I just have to get through the rest of The Odyssey, and I'll be finished with my summer reading. :-) And the nice part is, I'm about half way through it. Listening to Ian McKellen read it to me is sooooo much better than me attempting to read it myself. He's consistent in his pronunciations of the character's names, where I wouldn't be. Plus, his gorgeous voice is wonderful to listen to!

I've just ordered something which could become a classic

That is a great theory! :-) Thank you for the link. It looks very healthy. I eat mostly vegan so those combinations are quite familiar to me. It's important to diversify but i rarely have the patience for it...mostly i just stick to a few things i like. (that includes chocolate :-))
I'm almost halfway through the audio book version of American Gods and while I love the narrative I find myself wondering if there's a point to all of this.
I'm sick, and I'm comforting myself with a reread of the Perit Morts novellas

It's one of the books that I knew I should read but couldn't convince myself to do. So I went for the audio (which wasn't exactly easy to come by around here because of copyright issues for the original). Then it still took me half a year to finally start it.

I've finished Caught! and really enjoyed it. Very amusing, some tension but not too angsty, and cute. Several good characters in addition to the main two. I recommend it.

I am reading Spirit Sanguine by Lou Harper to continue my mini paranormal streak. Love Gabe and Harvey. How can you not love a vampire named Harvey? :)
Reading Hunter of Demons by Jordan L. Hawk. Because ya know, I just desperately need another series to get hooked on. :DAnd there's an audiobook. ::adds to wish list::

I own all the ebooks but haven't read them yet. :-)
The audio book is tempting - it's the same narrator as Boystown. He's pretty good.
I'm currently rereading Red Dirt Heart by NR Walker so I can refresh my memory before reading Red Dirt Heart 2.

I have to be prepared in order to read a British author, especially one like JL Merrow or Josephine Myles that take the slang and turn it up to 11 sometimes. I gave to get into the mindset so that it flows... ;)

Mind you, some of his pupils (and some of their parents) speak very basic English, so you do need to tune into that.

J.L. Merrow's Caught! — Laughing out loud!

K.Z. Snow's Resurrection Man — K.Z.'s writing really deserves way more attention. She writes things no one else seems to see in quite that way. A lovely, poetic, surprising book.
I recently finished Duocarns - The Arrival which is mf and mm sci fi. It is about two groups of aliens that crash land on earth. One group are a bit like werewolves but eat human beings and the other group are kind of like law enforcers and their job is to hunt down the evil aliens. The book is part of a series written in German and this is the first book which has been translated. I quite enjoyed the book. The characters were very unique.I am now slowly making my way through Julie Bozza's The Definitive Albert J. Sterne which is quite long and the paperback version also contains the stories from Albert J. Sterne - Future Bright, Past Imperfect so heavy too but it is such a great story, a bit like Silence of the Lambs. I think this is my favourite from all the books I have read from Julie so far and definitely one of my favourites this year. At the same time I am also dipping into John Tristan The Sheltered City and Caught.
We have a public holiday tomorrow so it is a great time for some reading.

I'm pretty sure he could give up pizza before coffee. :-)
I'm not really an espresso fan, but I had to drink SO much espresso the first time we went to Italy because I didn't want to be rude and turn down coffee at every home we visited. ;-) I do love my American coffee (or "hot water" as Italians call it).
