Actually, the US Amazon price is the same as the others. I would have waited, but the Amazon availability was posted on JCP's GR group and I grabbed it to begin reading last night. No self-restraint. ; )

No, not for those of us not in the US, for me it's $8.74 on Amazon and $6.99 everywhere else
Smashwords will provide you with multible formats in one buy
JCP books will provide Jordan with more money

It is really beautiful and wonderful story about a nurse/sex surrogate and a sci fi author wheelchair bound. I totally recommend it, it's the best in her series of Sex in Seattle. Some might find it too fluffy, I don't know but I really, really loved it.

I really liked The Trouble with Tony as well. It was hilariously funny, I was snickering all the way through. But I love Michael's story more. Maybe because of the main characters, or maybe because of the plot or maybe just because it's really well written.

I'm having a hard time settling on a book. Right now I've started Stage Whispers by Adam Fitzroy. The Goodreads page says it's 560 pages. Wow. But so far so good, though I'm just on chapter 1.

If I were home alone, I would have finished this days ago. Sadly, I've got two more parts to go.
I just finished both The Mating of Michael and Meatworks. The Mating of Michael is really heartwarming and emotions all over the place. I thoroughly enjoyed this! ...I agree with Ame & Valerie! :)
Meatworks is unlike anything I've read in a long time. It reminds me a bit, in a weird way, of After Midnight by Santino Hassell. It's has the anti-hero that you're not sure why you like...but you do! I loved it!

I finished Think Of England and loved it. I think K.J. Charles captured perfectly the mood of John Buchan and H. Rider Haggard; the early twentieth century, when honour was paramount and there were real adventures to be had. The characterisation was good, too -- poor Archie Curtis, blithely unaware of so much but a good man through and through, and Daniel demonstrating to him a less obvious type of bravery and loyalty. I'd love to read more of her work, but I find paranormal impossible to read. I do hope she writes more books like this one, or at least more books without paranormal.

I'm more of a paranormal fan than historical so I LOVE The Magpie Lord series. I haven't read her m/f yet but it's in my TBR.

I read Meatworks yesterday. Amazing. It isn't often a book carries over into my dreams anymore, but this one did.

Today I'm going to try to catch up on Wilfred Owen: A New Biography. It's so big I figure if I can read one chapter a day I can probably have it done by the end of the month. Hopefully :-)
I just finished Running Wild by SE Jakes. I really enjoyed it, much more than her Hell or High Water series. I liked her first person POV.

Got through Think Of England this weekend and LOVED it to pieces. God, I almost want to reread it immediately. I'm so psyched there is a sequel planned! :D

I took her ba..."Cliffhanger can be subjective, and so can HFN/HEA (though some sort of HFN/HEA is a given with romance books, generally). Personally, when i read reviews i prefer to read examples or look for keywords - that is, words that describe things i'd rather not read, though that can be misleading too. I think for a long time i've been relying on friends' reviews and the discussions here, and/or authors whose writing i trust.
It's a good idea to have this kind of list if it helps with the review.

For the most part, I'm looking at this as a quick way to help some authors with low book reviews on places like Amazon, where my penname isn't associated with my account. Though I might try it here too, I don't know. It might help me remember more about a book if I want to go back and reread it. Because I'm finding that I'm struggling with recalling some info about books I've read awhile ago. Like just how much violence was in it and that kind of thing. Not that it's bothered me before. lol.

Have you thought about adding something like "sub-genre, book type" to define the book a bit more than the blurb usually does?

That's an idea, putting in the genre. I'll add that in.
Well, the original form had "rape" but I've been calling it "non-con" for awhile, so I changed it. I'm iffy as to whether I want that to stay on the form, actually. But I know that's a no-go for a lot of people, so maybe it should stay.

I a..."It's maybe what you mean with sensuality, but I always look after some info about the ratio between sex scenes and plot, too much sex and too little plot, then it is not for me. So many times I have read a blurb and believed I would find an interesting story just to be disappointed with a thin plot just as an excuse to add as many sex scenes as possible on the pages. It doesn't have to state "too much" sex, because what is too much for me, is enough or too little for others, just the relative amount.
Maybe "abuse" together with non-con, it is a trigger for many.

I think that's an interesting idea and might encourage reviews that are more helpful to other readers (maybe even helpful to authors -- though I know that's not the purpose of reviews).

I increasingly hear the term "cliffhanger" used to describe an ongoing story line or series story arc. :-D

I read Goldilocks and His Three Bears and the follow up. They are kind of fun but pure smut. Nowhere in the same league as Death by Misfortune or The Elegant Corpse. I like those two of her's best. I never got around to finish Immortality is the Suck. Didn't like the MC much.
Unfortunately there don't seem to be many books by A.M. Riley and no books at all after 2010. :(
