I am reading Tequila Mockingbird now. I ran across that line this morning. It made me laugh, too. I started reading Rhys Ford because someone mentioned she had an AE reference in her book. She mentioned Josh in her acknowledgements in her first book. How could I resist after that?

I have Whiskey and Wry on audio but haven't listened to it yet. I should probably reread Sinner's Gin first. I wonder how long it will take the third to go to audio.

Great idea. :)

I have given up on trying to figure out their schedule, except for one thing, if it's one I want, they don't make it, apparently o.O

This is true. :D

Which are the Meg Perry-books?

Done! Thanks for creating the list. : )

Oooh, I love historical romance, though I don't read enough of it. Thanks for that rec, Alison. I need to grab that one!
I also need to check out this list of Easter eggs! Lol, that's really awesome.
Right now, I'm racing to finish a biography about Man O'War... At a freaking snail's pace. This is a good book, but dense with facts and info, so it takes awhile to get through it. I'm hoping to get it done before I leave tomorrow morning so I don't have to lug it with me while I'm on vacation for a week. I've got other books I'd like to get through while I'm gone. Lol.

That book was very unusual. The second book in the series is more palatable. Having said that, I really did like Amor.
I am reading a book right now which would be pretty good, but there is no visual cues to scene changes, or point of view changes. I find this a problem often in ebook formats. In print there is normally a simple double blank line between these switches that are left out in ebook formatting.
It's awkward because the book is well written. No head-hopping or such going on.

I am going to finish it, it is just taking a long time ,with other books being read in between so I don't smash my poor Kindle :p

I had to check and I've read this one in November 2011. I haven't written anything about it, but I remember liking it a lot then and I gave it 4 stars. I remember thinking that it was not perfect by any means, but that I found it captivating and enjoyable. I was fairly new to the m/m genre then and I found A.M. Riley's books a bit after I had started wolfing down Jordan Castillo Price's and Josh's books like my life depended on those. :-)
If/when you'll finish reading Amor En Retrogrado at some point, I'd be interested in hearing what your thoughts are then.

By the way, I find those Goodreads Yearly Reading Challenges very useful and entertaining to study afterwards! As I took a look at the year 2011 challenge just now I found out that while I read Josh's Adrien English series in a week or so in September 2011, I was listening to Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights at the same time as an audio book. ;-)
ETA: And that Emily got only 3 stars from me while Josh got 5. Wow. :-)

I like to see how many books I've read, but I don't really study what I read

It has a few GAH moments, but mostly, I like it
It's looooooooooong
Finally finished Man O' War.
My next book is JCP's Bitter Taste of Sweet Oblivion. And maybe the first book if I feel I need a refresher course as it's been a few years since I read it.

I suspect you were just not in the mood for Emily.

I didn't like it either. I was very disappointed in it.

Yes, that was my feeling exactly - I did not care much for the first book, but liked the second better. Have not started the third yet, but I usually like Libby Drew a lot, so there is hope :-)

It is so interesting to look back! The patterns and ratings and simply seeing the progression from one book to the next is fascinating.

I'm a bit into book 2 now, I like it a little better than book 1

It dropped into my Kindle this morning, I had pre-ordered and then forgotten. It is always fun when that happens :)
I look forward to it too, I haven't read a book by her I haven't liked, and I think I have read all that are out, including her m/f book, which is also very good, for those who don't mind female parts in their books :)Non-Stop Till Tokyo. More a thriller type of story than a romance, but with a romantic element as well.

The same happened to me! I'm also looking forward to it, but I suspect it will take a couple of days, because real life is interfering ;-).

Real life has a tendency to do that.
I finished Think Of England this morning. I love KJ's books, love this book (her take on country house party intrigues), love the idea of this as a series. Happy. : )

I want that book so much, but no money :(

I finished it half an hour ago and feel still stunned, such a captivating book - I loved the MCs and when it became clear at some part that this simply must turn into a series - WOW! but I will not write more to avoid spoilers.
Just interesting to see how KJ's blog post about the pulp fiction reads falls into place. That was quite insightful. And to find out where the title of the book comes from... :-))

Ooh, I'm really looking forward to reading more of her work! Thanks so much for the reminder!

Good to know, I was wondering about Non-stop Till Tokyo, because of the subject matter, it looked a bit on the rough side and i'm not sure i'm in the mood for that, but i'll give it a try after Think of England.

That is I have one evening to finish Think Of England (great till now) and then I can start a new JCP book, a total treat!
ETA: Oops! I think ''limited preorder'' means that it was possible to preorder before (I saw JCP's entry just now). Still, the link allows you to read 20% of the book already now. I love smashwords!...

Oh my goodness, I adore those books! I'm planning to read The Dark is Rising to my kids this Christmas, it's the best Christmas book ever written.

Before that, I read The Child's Child and was pretty shocked at how boring and superficial it was. Thanks, Queer Book Club, lol. :)

i just have these amazing memories of being snuggled up under a winter blanket, reading long into the night in secret, desperate to finish...
good times.

The Child'S Child was... very weird, very loosely plotted, characters were being idjits just to create some kind of change. It was slow and ponderous and didn't really wrap up, and what message there was was heavy-handed and transported in a way that I didn't think made a lot of sense. A reviewer felt the book was "phoned in" and that was pretty much what it felt like. Bored author writing some kind of book because contract.

I'm excited for Meatworks. It sounds cool. But then that's usually the case with JCP books.

or at http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/...
In both cases it cost less than at amazon.
ETA: I had resisted till now, but now I bought it and I can't read it immediately... Aaargh!

These posts prompted me to re-read Death by Misfortune by A.M. Riley, the second book in the series, which Susinok mentioned. I enjoyed it -- it's set in the film industry and really captures the frenetic pace for the various "assistants". Then I re-read the standalone Son of a Gun, and enjoyed that one too. Will embark on The Elegant Corpse next.
Does anyone have any other recommendations for A.M. Riley? -- not urban paranormal, please.
