Empress (the_empress) I didn't find anything on the manual. Are we listing those numbers. I see the books without ISBN have them and I can also see that those books are given ASINS at amazon. Should we use that ASIN, for old paperback/hardcover editions?

Example:
Book: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/17...
At worldcat: http://www.worldcat.org/title/henry-c...
Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Henry-C-Trost...

Asin number: B0006DX4PO
Publishing date 1981

Vicky (librovert) | 2462 comments An OCLC number could be added to the description, but it should not go in an ISBN/ASIN box.

Do not use an ASIN for these editions. ASIN numbers should only used for Kindle Editions on Goodreads. Amazon uses ASIN numbers to keep track of their entire inventory, old books and marketplace books (those being sold by a third party seller on Amazon) have ASIN numbers so that Amazon can easily put them in the database, but they are not recognized identifiers for those books outside of Amazon.
