I'm just noticing that there are random ads for other author's books on my dashboard. Is this new since Amazon acquired Goodreads or have I just not noticed them before? Some of them are for books I do not want associated with my name. Do we authors have any control over what ads appear on our dashboards?

The ads are supposedly targeted at you, so they'll be different for whoever looks at your page (because they'll be targeted at whoever the user is). That being said, I find that the targeting is quite poor!
When did Amazon acquire Goodreads? I thought they owned Shelfari.
