Reader's Digest Condensed Books

Hey - This is kind of random, but does anyone know a good place to get Reader's Digest Condensed books? I'm thinking of using ones with orange and yellow covers as part of my wedding centerpieces, but I'm having a hard time locating them.

It seems that my local used book and thrift stores don't take them because 'no one wants them.' However, they seem to sell online at a premium. Weird.

At my apartment complex we have a small library. Someone donates their Condensed Reader's Digest books. Occasionally we clear the oldest ones out and take them to the Salvation Army donation center. I think that and other such thrift organizations are probably your best bet.

My dad and I were talking recently about what he could do with the ones my mom had gotten over the years. They're all pretty old, 60's, 70's and 80's, and I don't think there are many with orange or yellow covers. Mostly reds and browns with some greens and beige. If you want me to check into them more, I'd be glad to.

The Goodwill store always seems to have a plethora of them. ;-)

Thanks Almeta. I'm actually from Michigan :) but I sadly live out of the state now. I'll try out other thrift shops. The ones that I talked to just 'throw them away.'

Thanks Rusalka. I hadn't seen that one. It seems like a good option if the thrift shops fall through.

There actually seems to be people making fun craft projects out of them (including bookshelves) if you are into crafting. Thanks for offering to check, but I think that I'll try thrift shops again first. :)

No, I just did a google yesterday for Emily, and came across them. I have heard of something similar before. Getting 6 feet of bright blue books delivered to my door does sound ridiculously appealing for some reason.

If you don't limit yourself to Reader's Digest you might find more of the color/s.
