I like it so far, some of her friends aren't very nice. Carson is a tool! And Tara deserved (view spoiler)[ getting puked on! (hide spoiler)]

MRI was pretty crazy and the doc's diagnosis was reasonable since there is no explanation for what happened to her.

I have all kinds of theories going through my head right now! The main one is (view spoiler)[ maybe she's experiencing something like in the movie Final Destination only death isn't coming for her, but she can see them...the shadows or reapers or whatever...and the tingling and pulling and itching is like a warning of their presence or the death of the person itself? I'm not sure, but her near death experience definitely did something to her.

The only thing that doesn't fit with my theory is the guy in her hospital room the night after she woke up. When he tried to filet her! At first I thought he was like an Angel of Death, you know like when in hospitals there is a nurse or someone who has lost their mind and they think they are bringing peace or whatever to a person suffering? I don't know, you know me and my crazy theories!! lol :D (hide spoiler)]

I was thinking that because Troy is like Delaney sensing when someone is sick/dying, that he is an angel of death and he is hurrying along the process! I'm also afraid that it was him that cut her arm, that would be so awful, cause she is starting to like him. (hide spoiler)]

Decker and Delaney (view spoiler)[ Why do they have to circle each other like that? It's so frustrating!! I can't believe he made a bet with Carson about kissing her!! They are making me mad and I want to bonk their heads together!! (hide spoiler)]

hmmm...I'm not 100% sold on this book yet. lol
it's odd, isn't it? I'm having a tough time really understanding the MC. she seems all over the place.

upset at Decker for kissing Tara but not even thinking or wondering why
doesn't like Carson but kissed him anyway on Decker's couch
was rude to Jenna in the library even after she tutored her just to talk with Troy
rushed to troy's car to bring him a pie but then was OCD scrubbing his kitchen
strangely affraid of old people and old things....

she's just odd...

but yeah, I'm 10 chpters in too, lol

and it's disturbing to think he might have done something to her (view spoiler)[ on purpose at the hospital. Did he know she'd already woken up?!?! Why rip out her IV if she'd already woken up?? (hide spoiler)]

what did I miss there?? I didn't understand it at all. why was she bringing up questioning why he helped her?
Did she want to hear that he cared more for Decker than her?

I was so confused with that part....

and the random green sweater scene in the mall

was that just to establish that she told Tara it was okay to go after Decker

I'm not sure...I think maybe I'm not connecting to the writing style? I seem to be confused about a lot of these scenes I feel are pointless.

I totally agree with you! I liked the plot of the story, but the characters...especially Delaney!...drove me crazy!!

I thought she was insensitive in some places to people she called friend, but one thing I thought made sense was when she said that Carson was the only guy to look at her and treat her like she was wanted or desired. So I understand why she was paying him attention.

Also the whole kissing bet and Decker not owning up to it and his feelings didn't help! I mean they were supposed to be BFFs and this is how they treat each other??

I couldn't believe she asked Justin that and in front of everybody!! That was more than awkward that was down right mean!

And the whole thing with Troy,(view spoiler)[ one minute she liked him and the next she finds out he tried to kill her and she's scared of him, but then later she wants to save him when she knows he should fear for her life around him! Stupid girl! (hide spoiler)]

And her mom (view spoiler)[ was behaving strangely too! I mean sure she was distraught with having her daughter almost die and would want to protect her, but wasting away like that? I don't know, I just thought some of the decisions she made were just off. (hide spoiler)]

Her friends (view spoiler)[ I get that they were upset at Carson's funeral, but really!! To treat her like that? Like it was her fault that he died, I mean she was there with him! And they couldn't call her to make sure she was ok? That's just sad! (hide spoiler)]

The ending (view spoiler)[ I liked how she figured out what she was supposed to do with her ability at least! I can see where it would be a comfort for her instead of a burden to carry. I didn't see Troy's death coming, did not expect that! (hide spoiler)]

Sorry for the rant, this is one of those books that I really wanted to like, I just my hopes up and I'm only a little disappointed because I think I'll still read the 2nd book, but only if my library gets it! I can't wait to see what you think of the ending! :)

Her mom - nonsensical. You just almost lost her, try appreciating the girl that is still there. instead of being destroyed over who isn't there....just an odd reaction I thought

funeral - that didn't make sense to me either. and how Decker handled all of that was just off too.

Delaney - drove me crazy. I never got a good handle on who she was - the writing just seemed so matter-of-fact devoid of emotion. She seemed so robotic and yet her reactions to things just didn't make sense to me. And she was so mean sometimes....

Troy - he was awful. Oh be with me. Oh wait I need to kill you. I disliked his whole character....

boo. I'm glad we're done with this one....Thanks for making me read it! I'm glad I had someone to gripe with! LOL!
