Series Name in Lists

I saw that in 2010, it was advised to quit putting the series name into the title, as the book page already adds it to the title, and soon every page that shows a title will also show the series name. But I see that hasn't happened yet, at least on my book lists. Any word on when (or if) this will happen?

Series name is currently considered optional in the title field.

Can you elaborate please? Does this GR has no plans to add it automatically in the lists as they do in the book details page?

It is probably still in the long term plan, but there's been no updates on when we can expect it.

For now the "unofficial" guidelines are:
If the series name is in the title field don't remove it.
If you want to add the series name, feel free, but don't feel obligated to add it.

There are no current plans to change the series functionality. It may happen at some point.
