Aditya Mookerjee It seems to me, that players at international level know pretty much what the chances of hitting a shot are, if the tennis ball bounces in a certain spot. John McEnroe, was a player who knew how the ball could be hit, if it had bounced on a spot, best, and how the ball would be hit by, say, Bjorn Borg, because Borg always put himself in the best position to hit the ball, without conflict to his ability to do so, as best as he could. McEnroe was never angry with Borg, only with the umpire, because he felt he knew where Borg hit the tennis ball, better than the umpire. Hence, the expression, which lends the title to the book.
