Dan Adam | 1 comments Hi, my name is Dan Adam. I'm currently serving in the military but should be retiring after 24 years of service later this year. I plan on writing full-time from home when I retire. I recently self-published my first novel through Amazon. The sequel to that novel is currently being edited and then I will begin looking for an agent to help me with publishing and distribution.

I am also working on a third novel which is planned to be the conclusion of my trilogy, but I'm struggling to find the motivation to write it. The second novel was super fun to write as it is set far into the future and allowed me to ignore any potential limits that current technology would've imposed, but it also had a lot more action in it.

The third novel is starting off kind of dry for action and I guess that may be the reason for my lack of excitement for finishing the last book, but I'm not sure.

I'd like to grow my circle of friends and followers and ultimately get a bigger fanbase for my work. I initially set a goal of 12 books to read this year, but have already finished two, so I think I'll greatly surpass that goal.

Thomas Thorson | 3 comments Hello! My name is Thomas J. Thorson and I have to confess that while I've belonged to Goodreads for a few years, I've been more of a lurker than contributor. I'm hoping to change that. I've published four mystery novels in a series (listed on my author page) with the fifth one coming out this summer, and will be looking for reviews later this month. Nice to meet you all.

message 1380: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Nahabedian Vallance (rachel_nahabedian_vallance) 38 years old married no kids. Last year I read 24 books all year and set my goal to 50 for this year and I just finished 118!

Listen to audio books while working, e-books and physical in the morning and at night. Just discovered ARCs and have discovered some great authors and books.

2023 has been the year of me going in blind to a book. I've noticed it makes the mysteries more mysterious, the romance more romantic, the suspense more suspenseful. It's been a joy and I might keep it up past 2023. Romance is the only genre I need to read a little about before I read (lots of tropes that aren't my thing).

I shy away from reviews that just vomit a recap of the entire plot (hinders my going in blind year) and try to shy away from doing that myself. I don't take myself too seriously and appreciate the short, quick, to the point reviews that let me know how you really feel.

Haley Marie | 1 comments Hello, everyone!

I'm an author of a YA Dark Fantasy series, Elementas. I have 2 out of 6 books out, Elementas: Yamay and Elementas: War of the Gods.

But I also recently just did a beta read and review for an author's debut book, and it was a blast!

I read basically any type of fantasy, but prefer dark/grimdark. I don't like the taste of spicy books, so sorry for that. A little romance is fine, but I prefer the adventure.

I base my "stars" on how gripping the book was for me. Was I willing to put it down? Did I stay up too late? Is all I wanted to do was keep going, neglecting food and water?

I'm an aspiring author so I will probably within the next year or so ask whether anyone here would be interested in reading an ARC of my debut dark fantasy novel with elements of horror, thriller and sci-fi. I will make sure to do it in the appropriate way.

My book TINEY TINY TURNER I FEEL DIFFERENT' which can be found here: https://mybook.to/TineyTinyTurner is about a mixed-race boy who is born Tiny (therefore disabled) and different from his peers.
It is a book which focuses on diversity and inclusion of children with special needs and is written to help our kids develop their self-confidence and self-esteem by teaching them to embrace their uniqueness, be it curly or afro hair, white, black, slim, short etc. It focuses on the truth that we are first all people who hurt, cry etc and eventually, all want to be loved for who we are.

I've been an Indie author since 2011, but haven't really interacted on Goodreads in forever. The fourth book in the series is coming out later this month. It's offered on Kindle Unlimited at the moment, but that's about to change. I am looking not only for reviews on the series but to reach fantasy readers. Please reach out to me if you're interested in reading the series and reviewing it, beginning with book one, The Oath.
Have a lovely day! Look forward to connecting with you.

message 1399: by Lux (new)

Lux Lucerne | 4 comments Hiya! I'm Lux Lucerne, a small indie author. I'm writing a fantasy adventure slice of life series called "Cafe Luna Seasons of Adventure." I currently have two full novels and a short side story published.

The slice of life elements focus on romance, food, and pets. For the romance aspect, I wanted to write about a couple being in a relationship, rather than just the typical process of falling in love. My books explore them trying to communicate and understand each other, moments of tender love and compassion, supporting each other through hardship, and overall accepting one another for who they are.

Food is something that can carry a lot of memories of the past with it, reminding us of simpler, happier times. It's also something that brings people together in the present. Dining together is a mundane yet profound act. Through doing so, we can share memories of the past with each other, helping us to understand one another and form bonds, even elevating the food itself. Food also gives us the strength to face tomorrow, paving the way for future generations, our ways of life passed down---our spirits kept alive in memory.

Then pets... they're our fluffy friends filled with big personality! They can be very simple, yet there is much we can learn about life from them.

I'm currently looking for reviewers, so if you're interested please consider signing up to my mailing list! You'll be able to receive all my books for free.
