Andrea (brainess) | 2 comments Hello guys! I’m Andrea and I’m a new book reviewer. I do book reviews in my blog (which is in tumblr).

As a newbie, I’d like to ask some questions, how do you gain followers or traffic in your site?
Is it wise to have my site in tumblr when most of the book blogging community is in Wordpress or wixsite?
I’m so new, what exactly do you do when book blogging? What are book tours?
Any tips you’d like to share to this newbie?

Thanks!

Allison | 9 comments Hey all!
I'm a new author of a dark fantasy novel called "After the Bees". I'm hoping to make a few connections here to get honest interest and reviews for my work.

When I read and review work I prefer it to be dark fantasy as well or horror/thriller.

Lauren Sevier (laurensevier) | 4 comments Hi! My name is Lauren Sevier, I'm an avid book reader. (Aren't we all?) And have a YouTube channel where I do reviews, talk about writing, tropes, publishing trends, etc. I would be open to doing more reviews in the upcoming year but am excited to say that the ARCs of my debut YA Fantasy novel 'Songs of Autumn' will be available 4/2020 for anyone wanting a new book to review! :) I can't wait to meet you all and get started on this crazy journey together.

Susan Parker | 7 comments Would you consider reading and reviewing my new novel, "The Staircase Murder: Third in the Caitlin Rourke Series." It's a fast read, 158 pages. It's part crime, part mystery. I've received some favorable reviews on Goodreads.

Lauren Sevier (laurensevier) | 4 comments Is this a general query for the thread or specific to someone within the thread? I would make sure to reply directly to the person you're asking a review from, especially if you see they read your genre, so that it doesn't get misinterpreted. :)

Hannah Sandoval | 7 comments Hi, everyone. Happy to be here. I'm a professional ghostwriter and editor operating under my own business, PurpleInkPen. My YA fantasy novel, Arcamira, is coming out in March 2020 from Cosmic Egg Books. It’s a fantasy-paranormal crossover wherein classic high fantasy species like elves, fairies, and griffins face off paranormal monsters like vampires and werewolves http://bit.ly/2OMlI9Z.

Some of my all-time favorite authors are Stephen King and Cassandra Clare, and a new favorite is Stuart Turton. If we’re talking poetry, I’m all about Poe. Some tidbits about me: I’m the mother of a wild toddler, I own the sassiest corgi known to man, I married my high school sweetheart, and I identify heavily with Hermione Granger.

message 1115: by Sean (new)

Sean Bai | 23 comments Hi everyone.

I'm currently going through my editor's developmental edits. It took me about 3 months to write my first book, not including the many months it took me to do the self-edit.

I read my first ebook in university, about four years ago. I had to grab a cheap deal on The Atlantis Gene, by A.G. Riddle. Ebooks actually got me to start reading again.

I started reviewing my first book after I saw a request to leave a review in the back of an ebook.

I mostly review books to let people know what good books there are, and to warn people away from books that are not so good.

Ryan Krol Hello! My name is Ryan Krol, and I’m a first time self-published author.

I released Syndrome on paperback on January 14, 2020, and then the Kindle version on January 17. I’m already writing my next book, which will be a novella.

I love writing. I’ve been doing it since I was in elementary school. I used to work in film and did some sports writing. Now I’m doing what I always wanted to do: write books.

When it comes to reading, I actually prefer audiobooks, just because that’s the best way I can retain the information. Plus, I’m always doing something productive, so audio allows me to multitask, even when I’m trying to go to sleep.

Jessie Hey everyone!!

I'm Jessie, and I'm an indie author. I have a debut urban fantasy novel releasing at the end of next month (which I'm actively seeking ARC reviewers for!), and I'm grateful for groups like this to connect with other authors and avid readers. I'm a huge bookworm, too, and always pretty much have been. I mainly write urban fantasy, historical fantasy, and paranormal romance, but I've also ventured into horror and scifi.

Thank you so much for having me! :)

message 1122: by Obinna (new)

Obinna Ilochonwu | 7 comments Hello People:
I am new to Goodreads and I just love the vibe here especially on this thread.

I am a recently published author who ecstatically just discovered the writer in me after many years working as a software geek. My first foray into your world is Fella:
Fella is a very short story about a gifted slave’s dramatic bid for freedom from the cotton plantations of the Deep South and how his insatiable desire for freedom leads to far-reaching and unintended consequences.

Fella is apparently doing well on Amazon with not too shabby reviews so far:
“Vivid page turner”, “Hauntingly good read…”, “A very well written gripping novel...”, “… will take you on a rollercoaster of emotions…”, “Brilliantly Written: Deeply Philosophical, Meaningful and Powerful…”

Grab a copy on Amazon
https://www.amazon.com/Fella-Obinna-I...
and please please please let me know what you think.

I'm Jake, I've been on Goodreads for just over a year and somehow only now discovering that these brilliant groups exist!

I finished studying economics and finance at University last year so any book business or economics usually catches my eye! But I'm also big into history, politics and any books that I can learn something useful or interesting from! I'm also hoping to start reviewing books soon.

I'm aiming to read 20 books this year as I only managed 17 last year.

Looking forward to getting involved in the group!

message 1138: by Munzie (new)

Munzie LeStrange | 5 comments Hi, I'm an indie author writing under the pen name Munzie LeStrange. I write paranormal-horror romance and dark urban fantasy romance.

As I'm sure most writers are, I've always been a book lover and an avid reader, but I've always been a little wary of reviewing books.

After my extremely negative experiences with various critiquing groups (apparently my idea of constructive criticism is outright critical and I'm only supposed to gush about how great everyone's first draft is), I've kept my opinions to myself.

Anyway, I'm happy to be part of the group! I look forward to making some new friends!

Gwen (gwenyfb) Hi! I'm Gwen. An avid reader and adventurer. I like to read a lot of different things, but currently, I am really digging Dystopian, stories with characters from backgrounds other than my own and a good romance. I am loving Goodreads as well as doing 'book roundups' on my personal blog. Maybe one day I'll write a book, but for now, I would love to read and review yours!

Phoenix (Books with Wings) Hi! I'm Phoenix (you can also call me E). I am a teen and I read YA, mostly fantasy but I also read sci fi and dystopian. I am a reader and author and one day I hope to publish the book I'm working on but that day is very far in the future...for now, I'll just settle with reviewing other people's to-be-published books!

I currently co-write a YA book blog. So far, it's pretty small but we are hoping to get more followers (if you would like to follow it, you can view the blog here: https://writersyabookreviews.wordpres...)

I am so excited to review books. I will give honest reviews and I read fast!
