Ginny O. | 5 comments Hello all,

I'm Ginny O. and I'm a recently self published author of a science fantasy novel called The Lone Prospect about werewolves who ride floating motorcycles and do security work. I hope to publish some short stories in the same universe soon and have a fantasy novel I'd like to publish next March. I'm still learning about all this as I enjoy doing things the hard way apparently.

Rachel Thijssen (rachelthijssen) For some reason I haven't introduced myself?
My name's Rachel and I'm an avid reader and an aspiring writer. English isn't my native language, but I do consider it my second language.
As a teen, I published two Middle Grade books in Dutch which I kind of want to forget about. They're terrible
I'm currently editing a YA scifi, finishing the first draft of a YA fantasy and working on far too many side projects (including a Dutch retelling, for some reason...)

Call me crazy, if you wish.

Thanks for reading this!

Margaretha Montagu (margarethamontagu) | 1 comments Bonjour everyone! I am an author and mindfulness meditation workshop host here in the south of France. In a past life, I was a medical doctor. These days my assistants are six supersmart horses - our workshops are based on equine-assisted experiential learning. As you can imagine, I devour any book to do with horses and I am also rather keen on historical crime fiction and mysteries.

Anyway, my second book has just been published. It is called French Women's Confidence Secrets. It is a confidence-boosting book for women, based on the information about the confidence-building techniques shared with me by several of my best French friends. Talking about secrets, I can not tell you how much fun I had writing this book.

I have only just recently joined Goodreads and I feel a bit lonely - would welcome any friends requests!

message 760: by E.M. (new)

E.M. Kelly Hi, my name is Ed and I am here as an author and a reader. I just published my first novel Addiction & Pestilence which is the first book in the series. It is a post-apocalypse/horror/thriller.

A little about the book if I may: Slaying Dragons is a term used to describe, in this instance, someone who has overcome their battle with addiction to drugs and/or alcohol as well as defeating evil or the Devil.
I took the biblical reference of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse and turned it into a series. Each book deals with the wrath that each horseman brings but with an added twist to each book.
The Four Horseman are:
1. White Horseman - brings pestilence (a deadly plague that is unleashed upon the Earth).
2. Red Horseman - brings war.
3. Black Horseman - brings famine.
4. Pale Horseman - brings death (Devil).

Addiction & Pestilence is a compelling look at addiction and the perseverance of the human spirit. If you're ready, take the journey and see the world through the eyes of these colorful characters as they journey through Hell.

Thank you taking the time to read this!

-Ed

Hello! I'm an author and avid reader of all genres. I am currently working on a series that deals with the impact of preconceived notions in a sci-fi genre. I look forward to connecting with other authors and hopefully seeing some reviews on my book.

P.S.- Any other authors feel emotionally drained when writing?

Mat Blackwell | 4 comments Hello! I'm new to this group, but it sounds like it'll be a blast. I've been writing for TV for a decade or more, but my first love is novel-writing. I finally got up the courage and published a novel this year, and am super-keen to see what people think of it: it's a satirical sci-fi dystopian romance, or something! For fans of Kurt Vonnegut, Douglas Adams, Margaret Atwood, David Foster Wallace. :)

So far, reviews on Amazon have been excellent, I think all of them are 5 stars? But the response on Goodreads has been less positive, and there aren't many of them at all. And that's where you come in, ideally! :)

Beef

If any of you are interested, it's available as an old fashioned paperback at Lulu, or for 99 cents as an ebook on Amazon. Cheers!

message 772: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Hello Everyone,

I've been a member of Goodreads for several years now, but I have to admit I've been easily overwhelmed trying to navigate my way around. I've tended to shy away from the groups here, but recently, I decided to reach out beyond my own Goodreads profile. I want to get a better feel for how the site is fully intended to work for readers and authors alike.

I'll be upfront and mention that I'm a Contemporary Romance author, but my intentions aren't to spam the groups I participate in or look for every opportunity to talk about my own works. I really do enjoy the online community of readers, bloggers, graphic artists and fellow authors. I have grown a fabulous network of friends on other social media sites and now I hope to grow my community here on Goodreads.

Happy Reading,
Jennifer :)

My name is Adrienne and although, I am not new to GoodReads, I haven't been especially social until recently. I am a voracious reader and love the Classics (Shakespeare/Mythology/Jane Austin/Bronte sisters, etc.) but Paranormal Romance has been my favorite genre over the last few years.

My new site ireadlove.com is where I will place the review as well as any other site you'd like. So, if you have a book in the Paranormal or Contemporary Romance genre, I would be happy to read and review your books.

Daniel Almeida | 2 comments Where to begin, where to begin...

I'm Daniel, some people online call me Dev, and I'm a writer. Since I was very young I've fell in love with fantasy, either from movies with cheap CGI to puzzles and books. Unfortunately, I was never able to get my hands on one of those board games, but I digress. I started writing silly roleplays to fanfiction and I have now concluded a book. Chronicles of A Lost Acadan, that is scarcely based on my childhood. Because I am currently unemployed, I hope one day to be a full time, comitted writer, but only time will tell.

Hi Terily,

I was wondering if you would be interested in reviewing children's books.

I am looking for book reviewers to review 2 of my eBooks, Big and Small in the Mirror, and The Magic Leaf. I have a 3rd book, Humanitarians, Visionaries, Heroes, and You, which is available in print only.

Big and Small in the Mirror is about bullying that happens in the school environment. The two main characters, Carlo and Marco, learn the effects of bullying on their self-images and how positive relationships help them grow. The book is appropriate for children between 8-10 years old.

I provide discussion questions at the end of the book to help parents and teachers facilitate a discussion about bullying, and to put the story in perspective.

The Magic Leaf is about a small-town boy who learns the value of friendship. The appropriate reading age would be 6-8. It has beautiful illustrations.

Humanitarians, Visionaries, Heroes, and You is a collection of 7 inspiring mini-biographies and my own reflections, intended to encourage the reader to join a growing movement towards social responsibility and global citizenship. This book is for an older audience (10 – 12+). It is sold on my website and Amazon.ca.

If you decide to review one or both of the eBooks, I will send a copy to you. Both eBooks are on Amazon and in the iBooks Store, so you can choose a Kindle or ePub copy.

If you want a copy of Humanitarians, Visionaries, Heroes, and You, let me know.

Thank you for your time.

Warm regards,
Mary
