In each book they get stronger in there bond.

I don't agree with you of course.
I don't see it as controlling as much as I think it is caring. Eve needs the harshness sometimes because she is stubborn and not used to someone caring about her.
Personally I think they are both equal in all departments. They both have had to grow up hard and make decisions for themselves. Now they both have to take each other I'm to account and realize that they are not perfect, they make mistakes, and they watch out for each other. But sometimes they each make decisions that come across as controlling. For they both are stubborn and want to do what they think is best for the other.

He is devoted to Eve and would never look at another woman. There is one story where a skanky woman tries to break them up. Eve sees right through her act. I takes Roarke a little longer to realize what his "old pal" is up to. Then he puts the "fear of Roarke" in her when he understands what she has done.
their story is like no other i have read in books....the man was a crook...thief..etc and is now a gazillionaire who owns everything.....he will and does do everything he can to protect his cop as he says it but he is smart enough to know when to give her space as well......i personally find roarke hilarious and wishing that i had his kind of money and computer savvy......that would be awesome
i have read them all.....and i think if jd robb and janet evanovich ever team to write a book....it would be hilarious......because they both manage to throw in a joke or light moment when it seems to be getting too heavy......i will read them as long as she keeps writing them

If you pay attention the author mentions something how they met and how he fingers the button he's kept in his pocket since NAKED IN DEATH.
