Chrome I need to know if Roarke is with any other women after he gets together with Eve, for whatever reason eg they broke up, etc. Or if he has any ex lover that turns up in the series that he still has feelings for or unresolved issues with. Thank you!

Lora nope I have read all the books and he is totally faithful to her.

In innocent in death an ex shows up, but Roarke is totally committed to Eve.

Once Roarke bedded Eve, there was noone else. A few former ladies have appeared in some books, but Roarke has NEVER strayed. Doubt if JD ROBB would do that to the readers.

Lora I fif

Brenda He never strays and he never even feels like doing so, he is completely faithful.

Pat Barfay Roarke is completely and totally faithful to Dallas!

Linda Verdier I am near the end of re-reading this whole series. I have every book. I love and part of that is they are a faithful, flawed couple. They get mad but they are very much in love.

Shel D No. He never strayed he does have a few x's pop in and out, but Darling Eve is it for him. Love every book have read all of the books several times....can't imagine a world without my semi annual Dallas & Roarke fix!

Wayland Smith Very enjoyable series, these. And neither character strays, though both have their admirers. That's part of why I like the books, I guess. Other things may happen, but we won't get a major soap opera bit with Eve and Roarke.

S.R. Howen It would kill the series for me if they strayed. Why did you want to know if they had?

message 12: by Donna (new) - added it

Donna Siebold I agree that he never strays but at least in one book he does express some unresolved feelings for an ex. Eve is aware of his turmoil and it does upset her. I don't believe he ever even comes close to actually cheating, but he does have a closure scene where he resolves his confusion.

In Innocent In Death there's a woman from his past... but you will have to read it for yourself. ;)

totally faithful, and I've read all the books so far

I too have read all the books in this series. The guy never cheated...not even looked at another.

Linda An ex shows up. But Roarke is faithful. Totally committed to Eve. I've read everyone of these titles and he still is carrying the button from the first time they met. :)

ROARKE is only HOT FOR HER.... but if he ever strayed I would love to put him in one of my stories....

Angela Verdenius Linda wrote: "An ex shows up. But Roarke is faithful. Totally committed to Eve. I've read everyone of these titles and he still is carrying the button from the first time they met. :)"

I forgot about that button, but yes, he does carry it with him everywhere! Such a simple little gesture that is so totally romantic...*sigh*

Justina Johnson He is totally faithful to Eve, but an ex-lover does show up and some unresolved issues around her do get cleared away finally. Eve senses these unresolved issues before Roarke does.

I have read all the books. What you are reading is all you will ever know...He is a mystery man. I would love to have one like him...

Cynthia D'Alba Totally faithful! and trust Eve to take care of any woman who tries to get between her and her man

Justina Johnson Cynthia, Eve has also imparted to Roarke what she would do if he were unfaithful, which he won't. They are the hottest, most intriguing couple I have ever read about. I finished all the books in less than a year ... I'm not a speed reader. They are the BEST!

Me too. That's a nice touch, isn't it?

Diana Harper I have read all of the books and Roark is the perfect man, totally committed to Eve strong steady faithful and really really respects Eve and loves her no matter what.

Tiffany T Chrome wrote: "I need to know if Roarke is with any other women after he gets together with Eve, for whatever reason eg they broke up, etc. Or if he has any ex lover that turns up in the series that he still has ..."

Roark's Exs show up occasionally to add tension but he never ever cheats on Eve because she'd gut him and wear his testicles as a necklace.

YES ... Roarke is a TREASURE. He, along with Eve, may be JD Robb/N. Roberts greatest creations!

Paula Linda wrote: "An ex shows up. But Roarke is faithful. Totally committed to Eve. I've read everyone of these titles and he still is carrying the button from the first time they met. :)"

Oh my gosh, is that sexy or what. I love Roarke.

No-one else just Dallas.

Joan Can I get a nice faithful man like my husband, but a man who will whisper sweet nothings to me in Gaelic like Roarke does to Eve......just wondering. :-) Joan

K I guess I'm the only one who finds Roarke a patronizing, controlling, overprotective asshole. I mean, I like him, at least I did in the beginning, but 17 books later, I find myself to be over the "I know what's best for you, and I'm going to force you to do as I want" trope. How many times am I going to have to read about him forcing nutrition drinks and medication down her throat? How many times will he go behind her back to her superiors because he thinks he knows how to do her job better than her? How many times will her bosses agree with him because poor, darling Eve, who's been doing her job for over...15 years (???) couldn't possibly close a case without being forced to involve her civilian, consultant husband. I'm over Eve too...maybe more so than Roarke, to be honest. Going to him for help solving cases because it's "faster." Caving to him every single time because he's always right and is just doing what's best for her, you know??? She's definitely not the strong character that Nora makes her seem. She's controlled by men in all aspects of her life. It's really disappointing. I enjoy an alpha male as much as the next person, but give me a break...

I just needed to get that out. I know the question to this was already answered...multiple times, but seeing all the Roarke love made me want to rant a little. :)

Lesley Book Lover Plenty of ex-lovers turn up, but thats all they are, ex, he is totally faithful to eve, and her to him. I can see k's point, Roarke can be patronising, controlling etc., but he met his match in eve, she won't stand for it, and that is why their relationship works.

I'm actually on a break from them right now. I started reading book 17 last August, I believe, and haven't been able to finish it. Not sure if I'll continue the series.

I don't find him so bad but I'm so bored by the series. He's perfect & has more $$ than Bill Gates. She's a social misfit. They have sex. Ho hum. I didn't even start the last book & I doubt that I will. But, for anyone that reads the series, if anything earth shattering... Let me know!

I appreciate your ranting. I am just in the 4th book and have not had my fill of Roarke yet, but if he is doing all you said, then I hope he cuts it out. You are entitled to rant by the way.

A couple has shown up, but he has not been with them physically. Eve punched out Magdelena and Summerset all but but umped for joy as he did ot like or trust her.

No he's with eve all the way after he meets her ....I love this series

Wayland Smith I've been mulling over the complaints some people have been posting about the series, and here's my response.

No, I don't consider Roarke a "manipulative asshole" or whatever it was. Let me tell you why.

I don't remember the exact book either of these things happened in, but I do know that they did happen.

In one book, Eve herself admits that, before Roarke, she was about a year away from burning out on the job, precisely because she didn't take care of herself the way Roarke does for her.

In another, when it looked like Eve was going to lose her badge, she was a basket case. She walked around numb, a wreck, and couldn't function.

Put those two things together: she was on track to having to leave the force, and Roarke helped prevent that. They take care of each other. People in love do that. These are two very strong, driven, stubborn people, so they have to go farther, to greater lengths, than most do in their relationships.

I can vaguely see where the concern comes from, but no, not for one moment do I see him in that light. For those that do, maybe find another series to read? Just a thought.

You are so very right! I find them so strong that either one of them could break for one reason or another and without the other there to either piss them off or what ever to make them see everything that they dill with in a clearer light then they would really loose it all. Eve has pulled Roarke out of a couple of down slides herself so though things get rough love does in my book concur all.

Nancy Wayland wrote: "I've been mulling over the complaints some people have been posting about the series, and here's my response.

I definitely agree with you. Dallas and Roarke back each other up in every way possible. Neither of them would be where they are at this point (and I've read/listened to all of them)without the other. Thanks to the other they're each evolving to be able to deal with what life has handed them in the beginning. And I also love the way they're bringing other people into their lives and making them both richer. Eve never would have gotten where she is at this point without Roarke. And in a lot of ways neither would Roarke. They are the perfect complement to each other.

Justina Johnson Nancy wrote: "Wayland wrote: "I've been mulling over the complaints some people have been posting about the series, and here's my response.

You are perfectly on target! Thanks for keeping things on point and sane.

Nancy Dallas and Roarke are so different. And yet they're both damaged in a lot of ways but together they're finding themselves. I think they compliment each other.

Saidah Gilbert You can almost make a case that Roarke seems to care more for Eve than she does for him. Not only does Roarke manage his business, he always seems to know about hers. Yet, she barely understands or even knows what he does. If I was married to a billionaire, I'd at least find out what his main business interests are; at least in the city where I live. Eve always seems surprised to hear that Roarke owns something.

Nancy Actually I think that Roarke needs Eve more than she does him. And I think she knows a lot more about his interests than comes through in the books. The last book I read there was a lot of joking around between them about his business interests.

Roarke is loyal and committed even when a partner in crime from Ireland comes to visits and try to lure him away. Roarke tells to go home and just before she leaves Eve gets to tell her to get out of town.

You are right on as to Roarke looking out after EVE as she is committed to speaking for the victims. When EVE was framed and was in danger or just giving up Roarke knew what he had to do to get Eve angry enough to put up a fight and prove who was out to get her removed from the force so the investigation of a group of doctors taking the lives of homeless for the sake of research. What happened the Eve's team kept the investigation going. It was the Dr. Mira that gave Roarke advice on how to get Eve back in the grove. Roarke and Eve total team that support each other

Diana Harper I agree I wish Roarke was a real man as I wish Eve was a real woman their story is the best anyone could wish for.
