Trying to find a the title of a romance I had read a while back. Book is relatively recent, Harlequin or something like that. ;)

Brief synopsis

The hero is prince seeking help from his ex girlfriend to help with their child's operation. The Prince's mother schemed and told lies and separated the couple. The heroine does help the hero and her child in spite of hostile atmosphere. A old woman who was a mother of the hero's friend, the friend died saving the hero. Now the mother of the friend tries to kill the child.

How long ago was "a while back?" You say that, then, that it is relatively recent. Is it a year ago? 2? 5? 10?

Is the setting modern or historical? and what is a child operation?

I read the book within the last two years, it possibly could be ~ 5 years old or older.

It's a modern setting, did not take place in North America.

IIRC the child was sickly and needed an operation.

No... it's Her Prince's Secret Son by Linda Goodnight. Really not that great of a book. LOL
