I do too but not enough to watch it. Same for Josh Holloway. But I do love Toni Collette enough to try Hostages, not really my kind of thing, but she's such a great actress, I want to see what it's about.
CBS on Wednesday morning revealed its primetime line-up for the 2013-14 TV season and herewith are the headlines: The Eye network is expanding its Thursday comedy block into the 9 pm hour, with the Robin-Williams-Sarah Michelle Gellar comedy Crazy Ones snagging the 9/8c anchor position; Person of Interest is on the move to Tuesdays at 10/9c; and Hawaii Five-0 is being relocated to Fridays at 9/8c.Also of note: CBS is swapping one Chuck Lorre comedy for another on Mondays at 9:30/8:30c, with new sitcom Mom bumping midseason-bound Mike & Molly (Eye prez Nina Tassler assured that the Melissa McCarthy sitcom will be back with a full season’s worth of 22 episodes), and 15-episode thriller Hostages has scored H50‘s Monday 10/9c timeslot (Josh Holloway’s Intelligence will take over when Hostages‘ run ends.)
Tassler also confirmed that the NCIS: LA offshoot NCIS: Red is DOA. “We’d love to try [launching another spin-off] again,” she said, “but protecting [the NCIS franchise] was really important.”

That news about NCIS: Red doesn't surprised me. Was not impressed with their attempted introduction of its cast on NCIS: LA.
Bad Teacher, good news.In a rare, post-upfront pickup, CBS has greenlit the single-camera comedy, which is based on the Cameron Diaz film of the same name.
Ari Graynor (Fringe) plays the title role of a sexy, foul-mouthed divorceé who becomes a teacher to find her next husband.
David Alan Grier (In Living Color), Ryan Hansen (Veronica Mars), Sara Gilbert (Roseanne) and Kristin Davis (Sex and the City) co-star; Hilary Winston (Community, Happy Endings), Lee Eisenberg, Gene Stupinsky, Sam Hansen and Jimmy Miller executive-produce.
The greenlight for Teacher (which will likely premiere at midseason) comes a week after the network announced its fall schedule.
CBS is the first network out of the gate with premiere dates for the 2013-14 TV season, and it will kick things off with the Season 27 premiere of Survivor.CBS also locked in one midseason launch date: Intelligence, which stars Josh Holloway (Lost), Meghan Ory (Once Upon a Time) and Marg Helgenberger (CSI), will premiere Monday. THE SHOW | CBS’ Hostages (Mondays at 10/9c; premieres Sept. 23)THE COMPETITION | ABC’s Castle, NBC’s The Blackist (new), ESPN’s Monday Night Football
THE CAST | Toni Collette (The United States of Tara), Dylan McDermott (American Horror Story), Tate Donovan (Damages), Rhys Coiro (Entourage), Billy Brown (Dexter), Sandrine Holt (House of Cards) and others
THE SET-UP | This Jerry Bruckheimer-produced thriller stars Collette as Dr. Ellen Sanders, a top-shelf D.C. surgeon who in 24 hours is due to cut open the President of the United States (Gossip Girl‘s James Naughton) — but first, she and her family are taken hostage by rogue FBI agent Duncan Carlisle (McDermott) and his savvy, sleek team of cohorts. The good doc’s horrible dilemma: Facilitate POTUS’ death during surgery, or kiss her loved ones goodbye.
THE FIRST IMPRESSION | This is a wonderfully provocative premise for a series, especially since Hostages is set for a tight 15-episode run free of repeats (ceding its time slot at midseason to Josh Holloway’s Intelligence). Collette, an Emmy and Golden Globe winner from her run as Tara, is unsurprisingly excellent as the conflicted Dr. Sanders, while McDermott, fresh off a pair of haunting Horror Story turns, is undeniably menacing. Donovan’s role as “the husband” is bolstered by the hint and reveal of secrets he himself is harboring, while the Sanders kids (played by Mateus Ward and Quinn Shephard) not only aren’t among TV’s most petulant teens, but at least one of them has a B-story that seems primed to throw a wrinkle into their captors’ intricately orchestrated scheme.
THE TVLINE BOTTOM LINE | With three estimable actors fronting this intense tale, Hostages is armed for bear as it aims to elicit more buzz than the glossy but ultimately wan (and relocated) Hawaii Five-0 did in the time slot. Two variables will determine its ultimate success: How ABC’s Castle handles what could be a tricky transition, and how strongly NBC’s James Spader-fronted The Blacklist — which I am thisclose to touting as the fall’s best new drama — comes out of the gate.
THE SHOW | CBS’ The Crazy Ones (Thursdays at 9/8c; premieres Sept. 26)THE COMPETITION | Grey’s Anatomy (ABC), Glee (Fox), Sean Saves the World (new, NBC) and Reign (new, The CW)
THE CAST | Robin Williams, Sarah Michelle Gellar, James Wolk (Mad Men), Hamish Linklater (New Adventures of Old Christine) and Amanda Setton (The Mindy Project)
THE SET-UP | In a pilot penned by David E. Kelley (Boston Legal) and with Tracy Poust/Jon Kinnally (Will & Grace, Ugly Betty) as showrunners, Crazy Ones stars Williams as Simon Roberts, the oft-riffing owner of a Chicago ad agency, while Gellar is his oft-exasperated daughter/creative director, Sydney. Wolk and Linklater play Zack and Andrew, other employees in vaguely definied capacities, while Setton is (of course, right?) their assistant. In the pilot, the team scrambles to save the McDonald’s account by lining up a “name” singer to update the “You Deserve a Break Today” jingle. Cue guest star Kelly Clarkson, as Kelly Clarkson!
THE FIRST IMPRESSION | Fact is, the Crazy Ones pilot has potentially one too many “one-off” factors going for it — a huge real-world account and a buzzy, heavily incorporated guest star — to afford an accurate assessment of a typical episode. I mean, what will the show look like when spinning a story about a smaller, less familiar client that doesn’t serve billions and billions? And when left to the core cast’s own devices without an extremely gung-ho (and, it must but noted, quite funny) guest star to bounce off of? What about when there’s a B-story to follow?
All that said, there’s great promise here in a strong (if quaint) ensemble, warm interplay chem between Williams and Gellar and, as CBS boss Nina Tassler foretold at the Upfronts (pre-Mad Men, natch), a breakout role for Wolk, as a playboy with a heart of gold. (But again, his “sexy” duet with Clarkson is the kind of noisy moment that trailers were made for, yet will be impossible to emulate on a weekly basis.) Tonally, the pilot was steadily amusing and delivered a couple of belly laughs (including one evoked by Williams and Wolk’s improv’d, R-rated McD’s jingle), with a touch of Modern Family-style fuzzies weaved in at the end.
THE TVLINE BOTTOM LINE | With Grey’s entering Season 10, Glee in transition mode and TV icon Michael J. Fox’s NBC show not airing until 9:30, there are eyeballs to be had here for Mork, Buffy et al. As long as Williams’ off-the-rails persona remains well-modulated, Wolk is allowed to shine and newbie lead-in The Millers doesn’t drop too much of Big Bang‘s audience — and provided the show never again asks us to believe an ad agency would pitch McDonald’s a “Real Beef” campaign — CBS’ second Thursday comedy hour should open strong.
Yeah, same here. I will probably be trying out 2 sitcoms this fall, which is amazing (Michael J. Fox is on the other).
Hostages has only come to the UK this year but I am sorry to say that it is the most unrealistic, annoying drama on the TV. The characters are so unbelieveable especially the Surgeon - an intelligent woman wouldn't behave like her part has been written.

Okay, really not happy with NCIS:LA being moved opposite CASTLE, or moving CSI to Sunday night. Also, what happened to THE MENTALIST? Everything I've seen online says it has been renewed for a 7th season, but no premiere date.
"The Mentalist" will not return to CBS until later this year.....Read more here: http://www.christianpost.com/news/the...
You're Welcome! Google is weird, it does not come up the same for everyone. Or at least this is what my BIL said.
Well, seems I will have something to watch on Fridays, thanks to CBS (Amazing Race) and the CW (America's Next Top Model).

The Odd Couple remake with Matthew Perry starts in February. I've been burned on so many Matthew Perry shows (post-Friends), but maybe CBS will actually give this one a chance to build an audience.http://insidetv.ew.com/2014/12/05/odd...
CBS unveiled a fall schedule that features three new dramas and two comedies, including Supergirl, which will debut on Mondays in November; a remake of 2011 film Limitless, and Life in Pieces, a multigenerational family sitcom. But many of its returning shows will remain in their time periods, including renewed freshmen series Madam Secretary, NCIS: New Orleans and Scorpion.
Once again, The Big Bang Theory will air on Mondays while CBS has its package of eight NFL games on Thursdays, followed by Pieces; both will shift to Thursdays in November, joined by Mom and Angel from Hell, another new sitcom starring Jane Lynch (Glee).
Among returning shows, CSI will get a final sendoff Sept. 27 with a two-hour movie, including original stars William Petersen and Marg Helgenberger, while Ted Danson shifts to CSI: Cyber alongside Patricia Arquette.
And Person of Interest will return with a shortened mid-season run that will likely spell the end of the series. It will be replaced Wednesdays by Code Black, a new medical drama in a fall season that will see several new entries in the genre.
For mid-season, a remake of Rush Hour and a Criminal Minds spinoff, Beyond Borders, are on tap along with The Odd Couple, 2 Broke Girls, Mike & Molly and Undercover Boss.

It is not your imagination. There is a ton of new medical dramas in this current crop of new shows. I spot Chicago Med(NBC), Heartbreaker(NBC), and Code Black(CBS). On top of that we have the comedy Dr. Ken(ABC) and Containment(The CW), which will surely have a medical focus. Medical shows are the new cops shows it would seem.

Looks like shows about lawyers have pretty much phased out, in favor of doctors and police shows. There's always Saul. :)

CBS is still not saying “Limitless” is canceled, but it’s not coming back to CBS.
