Felicia | 23 comments I am interested in knowing what people think about the pairings in these books. Such as who they think realistically will become a pair. who they wish would get together, even if it is unrealistic. also what they think will happen to current couples in the series.
Such as what do you think will happen with Jamie and Cercei's relationship?
What will happen with Tyrion and Sansas' marriage?
Who will Daenerys finally settle down with in the end?
Are there any characters you would like to see get together?
these theories/ideas can be what you think would actually happen or can just be what you wish would happen. Can be serious or similar to the crackpot theories just more specific.

message 2: by Rose (new)

Rose (happyagain) To answer the last couple questions

Cercei/Jamie is bound to fall apart. IDK if it was just me but Jamie gave up on his sister at the end FFC.

I forgot all about Tyrion and Sana XD I think it'll resurface again later to play some kind of ploy with land

I have this tiny hope in my heart that Dany and Ser Jorah get together, I love the Bear <3

People I want together... Val and Jon, Satin and some other brother in the Night's watch, it'd be cute >////<

Ana Rodrigues | 12 comments Jaime is now realizing who Cercei is, so they wont get together for much longer.
Tyrion and Sansa are off for sure. I think maybe Sansa will stay with Petyr, and it would be cool for Tyrion to meet Daenerys and fall in love with one of her handmaids. XD
Dany for me would stay with Jon, they would be perfect together, the ice - jon, and fire - dany.

message 4: by Amber (new)

Amber (ivorydoom) | 835 comments Well in a dream world,

I'd like for Petyr to force Sansa into marriage with him, only for The Hound to resurface and stab him in the bowels, followed by a Hound and Sansa Reunion.

I think Gendry and Arya is a given. I can't imagine her with any other man. Though I also think it would be kinda cool if Arya fell in love with someone like Arianne Martell or one of the younger Sand Snakes.

I'd also kinda like it if Dany ended up with Ser Jorah, but I would also be happy with her ending up with Daario. I think they go nicely together.

Of course I want Sam to be able to be with Gilly and for him to be absolved of his vows. I would like this more than Jon being absolved from his. Sam never wanted to join the watch, Jon did, he deserves to have to keep his vows in my opinion.
I'd like Jon to just stay the Lord Commander.

I really want Tyrion to find Tysha. Even if it goes badly (which it probably will) I want him to have the chance to see her and apologize.

I actually really wanted Brienne to hook up with Ser Hyle, but sadly, I think he is most likely a gonner.

message 5: by Felicia (last edited May 14, 2013 01:41PM) (new)

Felicia | 23 comments Yes i agree that jamie and Cercei are no longer a thing. It seems Jamie has become completely disenchanted with her. he may still have a connection with her since they are brother and sister, but i dont believe it will go beyond that anymore.
I to hope tyrion finds Tysha just so he has closure for that. I think at this point even he would be fine with it turning out badly. as long as he gets to at least know whats happened to her.
I am curious to see how Jamie and Briannes relationship goes. will they be friend, just Mutually respect each other as fighters. or will one or the other fall in love with the other?

message 6: by Amber (new)

Amber (ivorydoom) | 835 comments I think Jaime might already be struggling with feelings for Brienne he doesn't want to admit outwardly or internally.

His actions suggest as much in my opinion. But I don't think Brienne will reciprocate realistically. I think she would look down on him for breaking his vows.

And thats exactly how I feel about Tyrion and Tysha too! I just want them both to get closure. I would like it if Tysha had a good life too and made something of herself maybe in the Free Cities or something. Show that stupid Tywin Lannister how wrong he was!

message 7: by Felicia (last edited May 14, 2013 02:10PM) (new)

Felicia | 23 comments Hasn't Brianne mostly gotten over Jamie and his past with his vows? she understands why he had to do what he did. she may not like it, but i don't think she looks down on him anymore. or were you referring to if they got together it would break his current vows with the kings guard?
I also like the theory of the Tyrion/Sansa marriage resurfacing as a land claim in the future. though i dont think it will be brought up by those two. neither of them is very greedy or power hungry. So i think they would be civil about the land issue. But someone else will bring it up as a way to get more power, such as little finger

message 8: by James (new)

James Galvin | 98 comments Jamie and Brienne better end up together in the end. They are my favorite duo in the books and on tv their scenes are the best acted with palpable sexual tension.

message 9: by Amber (new)

Amber (ivorydoom) | 835 comments were you referring to if they got together it would break his current vows with the kings guard

This.

I agree, I don't think she holds the Aerys thing against him anymore. I just don't think she would be cool with him breaking his Kingsgaurd vows by wanting to be with her.

message 10: by Felicia (new)

Felicia | 23 comments yes that is true. she would not be happy with him if he broke his kings guard vows.
however depending on who ends up with the throne he may not always be on the kings guard. There are very few who would leave him in that position considering he is a lannister and what they think he has done. so if he leaves the kings guard she may allow him to act on his feelings.

message 11: by Gianluca (new)

Gianluca (gianlucag) Hot Pie and Daenerys. I want to see Hot Pie on the Iron Throne.
Hot Pie, The First of His Name, King of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms, Protector of the Realm. The Baker King, hell yeah.

message 12: by Nermin (new)

Nermin (narminstaley) | 280 comments Me and Rhaegar sounds perfect!

message 13: by Rose (new)

Rose (happyagain) The baker king XD

message 14: by Gianluca (new)

Gianluca (gianlucag) Westeros would be a better place...

message 15: by Rose (new)

Rose (happyagain) Cakes for everyone, they'd pay off the Braavos in bread.

message 16: by Gianluca (new)

Gianluca (gianlucag) He would make peace with the Wildlings with offers of bread and pastries, and unite all the great Houses under his Flaming Pie banner.

message 17: by Prin (new)

Prin (prncss1121) | 126 comments Funny ^^^ :)

message 18: by Eyehavenofilter (new)

Eyehavenofilter | 764 comments Well...me and Tyrion AND the Hound is still a fantasy. Albeit a strange one..
but I have this weird feeling that Brienne or Jamie will die in one of each others arms, sadly..
Arya and Gendry would be awesome, but too convenient, maybe Arya and Poderick? Only GRRM knows....

Jayme(theghostreader) (jaymetheghostreader) | 1113 comments I don't understand why you guys like the Hound so much. I personally can't stand him. Anyways, Dany and Ser Jorah I don't think is going to happen anymore. He betrayed her.

I am not sure who Arya would end up with. Someone decent I hope.

I don't remember, does anyone remember if Myrcella got married? She got shipped off to Dorne.

I think Tyrion and Sansa would only be a political match and he really deserves someone decent.

message 20: by Michael (new)

Michael Lavin | 197 comments Jayne have you read the books? I Love the Hound he is what he is and doesnt apologize for it. I can respect that and truly believe he is good natured deep down! But too each his/her Own!

message 21: by Manda (last edited May 16, 2013 03:21PM) (new)

Manda | 9 comments I like Amber's idea for Arya!

What about Arya + Elia Sand (Lady Lance)?

Tyrion's way too cool for Sansa...

message 22: by Amber (new)

Amber (ivorydoom) | 835 comments Well...me and Tyrion AND the Hound is still a fantasy

ROFLMAO.
that mental image may not fade for a while....

I also quite like The Hound. Nice guys finish last Jayme. Sad but usually true. I'm not sure why chicks dig guys like The Hound, probably because historically, guys like The Hound, would be alpha males who could provide us womanfolk with safety, food, and strong healthy children. Can't fight millions of years of evolution with only hundreds of years of refined social culture.

message 23: by Michael (new)

Michael Lavin | 197 comments Well Put

I have read all the books that are out.

Umm the Hound is not that nice of a guy. Nice guys don't kill innocent boys.

message 26: by Amber (new)

Amber (ivorydoom) | 835 comments I know...I was saying he was the opposite of nice. LOL.

Nice guys finish last with the ladies in most instances. Thats why you see the ladies swooning of The Hound and not Davos Seaworth.

message 27: by Felicia (new)

Felicia | 23 comments Oh my. . i actually really like that theory that either Jamie or Brianne will die in the arms of the other. if that happens i will probably cry lol.
And the thing with the hound is that though he is this fierce and scary killer, very rough outwardly. He is still an honorable person. Even if the things he does for that honor are kind of rough. He sticks to what he believes. and he is the type that once you become the woman who has won his heart/ or attention then you are protected and cared for.

message 28: by Aly (new)

Aly (Alygator) | 113 comments Also, Jaime is what I would consider a good guy (now at least), and he tried to kill a child. Not saying that killing a child is right or that being a good guy eventually makes everything ok, but I do believe that Jaime is an ok guy. I kind of feel the same way about the Hound. These characters aren't so black and white as to be solely "bad" and "good." Also, as the whiny Joffrey's guard, he may have been ordered to kill the child regardless. Thus why the gods deemed him "not guilty" by trial of battle?? Eh. conjectures. Back to the point at hand.
I would definitely cry if Brienne or Jaime died in the arms of the other! Felicia, you won't be alone in that :D

message 29: by Nermin (last edited May 17, 2013 05:06AM) (new)

Nermin (narminstaley) | 280 comments Personally, I don't think defeating your rival in a battle clears anyone of any charges and I agree with Jayme about the Hound. I mean, I don't hate him or think he is an evil guy, but what is so likable about a man that cuts a child in two and jokes about it afterwards?

message 30: by Scarlett (new)

Scarlett | 8 comments I actually want sansa to stay with Tyrion but at the same time I cant see that happening. Unless he makes a gesture to prove he really is a nice guy and not a typical Lannister. I think Arya and Podrick would be super adorable, but anther unlikely match. I think Jamie will end up with Brienne, and Cersi will die alone.

message 31: by Amber (new)

Amber (ivorydoom) | 835 comments Yah, I pretty much agree they aren't nice guys. They're pretty brutal.
That's why I was thinking it has to have some evolutionary connections to what woman view as strong and capable mates.
Both men have shown that even with extreme disfigurement, they could make there way through society and destroy their enemies, which sorta translates into having extremely virile genetics.

message 32: by Felicia (last edited May 17, 2013 10:48AM) (new)

Felicia | 23 comments What part did he cut a child in two? I don't remember that? of course my memory isn't the best lol. but are you guys sure your not thinking of his brother, Gregor Clegane? hes the really cruel one. he burned Sandor. raped and killed Elia Martell and bashed in her sons skull.

Usually when Sandor kills its because his lord or master commands him to, and he is very loyal. but once he goes off on his own he seems to not be as viscous. he kills when he has to, not for the pleasure of it. And he has defended the two Stark girls pretty well. He wasn't happy about Joffreys treatment of Sansa. yes hes not very nice about it but hes never hurt them on purpose. and his laughing or seeming to enjoy killing could be his way of cooping with it, he also drinks a lot when he has the chance. that seems like the actions of someone who has things in their past or personality they are not happy with.

message 33: by Amber (last edited May 17, 2013 10:57AM) (new)

Amber (ivorydoom) | 835 comments See Game of Thrones, Chapter 16.

Sandor nearly cleaves Mycah (the butchers boy) in half, from shoulder to waist.

*Edit: Sandor started killing men at the tender age of 12 far before any lord commanded him too.

message 34: by Felicia (new)

Felicia | 23 comments ah ok well that would be why i dont remember that. I didnt actually read the first Game of Thrones novel.

message 35: by Amber (new)

Amber (ivorydoom) | 835 comments AHH!
You go read that right now.

LOL!
Actually I thought the TV show was pretty accurate to the first novel. When I read it I was surprised how long it took Ned to die.

I was like, good god, this goes on for half the novel?! (Maybe not quite that much but felt like it to me)

The Audios are well done too, and easy to pummel through if you listen while you do housework and shit.

message 36: by Felicia (new)

Felicia | 23 comments I may do the Audio book for the first one then. that way im not missing any of information

message 37: by Eyehavenofilter (new)

Eyehavenofilter | 764 comments I just know that Jamie will not find happiness. I have this feeling he will die in Briennes arms or she will die in his arms, because of some mess Cerci started and that will drive him over the edge and he will kill Cerci
That sounds very GRRM to me.

message 38: by Jon (new)

Jon (jon17) | 156 comments @Felicia
You are so lucky! I wish I could read it again for the first time :)

message 39: by Nermin (new)

Nermin (narminstaley) | 280 comments Hey, Jon, we are re-reading the books with one of my friends, maybe you should join us too!:)

message 40: by Jon (new)

Jon (jon17) | 156 comments That sounds cool. Where are you doing it?

message 41: by Nermin (new)

Nermin (narminstaley) | 280 comments well, here on GR:)

message 42: by Jon (new)

Jon (jon17) | 156 comments I figured ;)
I meant are you discussing it in a thread or PMs or such?

message 43: by Nermin (new)

Nermin (narminstaley) | 280 comments Oh, we discuss it both in PMs and in status updates:)

message 44: by Aly (new)

Aly (Alygator) | 113 comments I just started a reread day before yesterday myself.

I so don't want Jaime to die that way, Eye!! But I have to say that that does sound like GRRM to me too :( noooooo he's become one of my favorite characters!!!

message 45: by Karen (new)

Karen | 48 comments I think Jamie's death is gonna be one of those bittersweet endings GRRM talked about... Cersei has said WAAAAY too many times that her + Jamie came into the world together and will leave the world together to be discounted. Foreshadowing to the max. I just hope he kills her before he's offed himself :)

message 46: by Aly (new)

Aly (Alygator) | 113 comments haha, Karen! Good call on the foreshadowing. How cool would it be though, if that was just to throw us off, and Cersei leaves this world without Jaime.... :D

message 47: by Felicia (new)

Felicia | 23 comments I think many people would be happy to see Cercei leave the world without Jamie. Though if he has to die I agree that he better take her with him. or maybe brianne kills her as revenge for Jamie.

message 48: by Karen (new)

Karen | 48 comments I would love it if Brienne killed Cersei! If only she could be the Valonqar. That would be amazing. You should write for the show!

message 49: by Santino (new)

Santino Hassell (santino_hassell) | 5 comments Wow.

message 50: by Felicia (new)

Felicia | 23 comments lol perhaps we should all right letters to hbo asking to have brianne kill cercei.
