E.B. Brown (ebbrown) | 320 comments Today I jumped 30 minutes into the future....twice ;) Red wine the night before a jump makes for extra time travel.

I woke up five minutes before my alarm, so mine must have been set to go backwards in time because that never happens.

Now why didnt I think of this excuse when I got into work late? They would have bought that easily.

Howard Loring (howardloringgoodreadscom) | 1177 comments Jacqueline, years ago you could visit the Past in cars & I don't mean in just the fabled DeLorien.

At the time, the odometers went backward while driving in reverse & a friend, who had rented a car to come visit me that weekend for a big party had the bright idea of jacking it up & running it in reverse in order to cut his mileage, thus saving him $$ on the rental.

Given our intended schedule, I was doubtful but he persisted & that Saturday the deed was indeed done.

Unfortunately, as we still partied on, we both forgot about the whole thing & the car ran until the gas was consumed, thus transporting its mileage to a point in the past far beyond when he had even rented it & we had to drive around the rest of the weekend in an attempt to generate a plausible odometer reading, thus defeating the overall purpose of his visit & any idea of saving said $$.

Ah, the good ole days.

Jacqueline Patricks (jacquelinepatricks) | 112 comments That was an awesome story! It reminded me of Ferris Bueller's Day off, which didn't work out for them either.
