Reading through some of the articles posted written by Beirne that you posted early in this feed. Very interesting stuff. I am looking forward to diving into this book. One article that was particularly interesting to me was the When to pull the trigger article. It really is interesting the way such different worlds have such a opportunity for comparison. What stuck out to me was Washington's decision to arrest the loyalist plotting against him as distinct from a loyalist on the battle field. Granted battle lines in the modern war on terror are very blurry, but interesting leadership decision

Yes, it is - Washington was ruthless and that just doesn't seem to jive with our elementary education and the innocuous stories about not lying because he cut down a cherry tree - does it.? Or gentle George.
All this buildup has me anxious to get going. Have a slot in my day tomorrow for reading and more importantly reflection on what I'be read.
The discussion for chapters 17-20 will begin tomorrow 9-16-13. The moderator(s) will open the thread then. Enjoy!

It is also going to be a quick read - not dense - so probably best to start things right on August 12th.
I am looking forward to it too Phillip.
