Quin walked to the couch Hunted had pointed to. He laid Stefan on it and he was this close to loosing it since Stefan was there looking empty and he knows this because of the blank stare in his eyes. He had seen that over the years on those people who had gotten their magic tampered with. He sat beside him and as he did so everything came back to him the last time they had been here together with Shale. Everything was so simple back then, no worries to think about nor any problems to find solutions with.
"Don't worry, Stefan. You're going to get better," he whispered to the still form beside him. He may not see it but at that moment something in his own brown eyes flashed something malevolent and evil. "We're going to do whatever we can do to make you better," his voice cracked yet again and this time he yearned to be in his place.

Stefan jolted awake again when was put on the couch. He didn't remember Quin looking like this, he remembered him confident and strong. I am doing this to him he thought. "Yeah I know" he replied. He wanted to snap out of this, it made him angry that he was so dependent. "I'm sorry" he said apologetically. Then he dozed off again into deep sleep, his body telling him to let it go.
Quin held back the words would really piss him off on a normal day. He kay have found feelings for Stefan but it didn't help that he was acting like a pussy to do it so with a determined glance at Stefan he stood. "Who's this Bernard?" He asked to both Hunter and Kaila, his voice wiped off the emotion he was just showing a minute ago. He looked back at Stefan and he felt like his heart was being torn by the sight of him so pale.
But enough about this, this may be the first time he had been like this but it was about time to put an end to it. He must stay stable for the both of them so that they can recover from this and he would do this by pretending that Stefan was only sleeping on the couch, not fighting for his life, just dozing off peacefully.

Stefan was in a deep sleep that people had under the influence of drugs. However with the dreams he was having, he wished he could wake up. He was alone, every one of his friends walking away from him. They all looked angry and disappointed, even Maria, his sister. He didn't know why they were so mad but he had to fix this. He had to. Turning and twisting on the couch he was calling for them. Quin looked so angry at him it scared him! What did I do to him? He asked but his own voice was echoing around him.
Quin was grateful that Hunter had given him a task to do. He took the towel and the bottle of water with one hand and he put it aside for a moment so that he can take Stefan's shirt off. He leaned forward so that he can hug Stefan to his chest. He was careful not to move him that much since he was afraid that would only worsen his condition. With a sweep of his hand, he felt the slack muscles of him and he closed his eyes for a second the last time he had held him like this.
He shivered at the memories and he tugged the shirt off like an expert. Now that it was done he laid Stefan back on the couch. He my have looked stable now but this was still grating on his nerves. He poured some water on the towel so that he can gently wipe he blood off Stefan's chest with loving strokes. It might as well be the final nail for him to leave after this. If he was always causing havoc, he needed to take it away from those who he cared about.

Vee looked at Hunter relaxing that he was okay but that's when she noticed Stefan bloody on the couch looking. Dead. She ran to him pushing Quin out of the way who was cleaning the blood of him. "Stefan" she whimpered but she saw his chest rise and fall. Collapsing on the ground "he's alive. Thank god he's alive" she kept telling herself between breaths. When she was finally convinced that he was indeed alive she looked at the three others in the room, now four as she saw Jax "What the hell happened!" She said in barely a shout.
Quin decided to answer Vee's question in a calm tone, "He had drank some scotch and was now like this after that. We tried to find ways to make him better but we're out of ideas." He didn't show how he truly was shaken by this but as he raised his hand to smooth back Stefan's hair, his hand shook. He bit his lip so that they wouldn't see how truly worried and upset he really was but these people know him better than he thought by the looks Hunter was shooting at him. It was pity which he didn't want.

Stefan felt the presence of someone else in the room, when opened his eyes he found Vee looking over at him. Again he knew who she was but didn't feel anything towards her. "Vee" he was thinking out loud "I'm not okay, something's wrong" the pounding in his head picked up and he sat up suddenly hold his head screaming "AHHHH MAKE IT STOP" shaking uncontrollably he tried to stand up but fell back on the couch tears streaming down his face.
Hunter watched Vee carefully, he knew how she felt because he was feeling the same. It's their brother, their best friend and in Vee's case occasionally was her lover. If they just knew what's wrong it will give them a something to do instead of feeling so helpless. When Stefan started shaking and screaming Hunter ran and grabbed Vee out of the way because she was throwing herself at him trying to calm him while he was thrashing senseless. He looked back ar Kalia "Get her out of here" he said trying to hold his temper. He knew Vee will never forgive him for giving her to Kalia and kicking her out, but there's no time to dwell of that now.
Jax had completely taken control by keeping quiet but aware of all things. His whole he had never heard a person scream like Stefan just did minutes ago. It was like Stefan was being dragged to hell. He now held Vee's shoulders in his hands so that he can push her to the door. Knowing her, she would resist him but he tried to her. "We need to go, Vee. Please do as I say," he begged as he heard Stefan thrash again. He pushed her again and this he can really feel her weight against his body.

But the haunted look in Stefan's eyes and his screams were cutting right through her. She has to do something even though she doesn't know what. She wouldn't mind him lashing at her if it will help him. When Kalia left them She gave up fighting Jax and buried her face in his chest sobbing "Please do something" she said wanting to return to the study "Please Jax".
Hunter shook his head at Quin "No, tell us what to do. Talk either Jax or me through but there's no way you're doing magic. Plus only Stefan can undo the spell he did" Hunter said through gritted teeth. Vee was thrashing and cursing Kalia when she returned she was busy talking to someone on the phone. Getting out his wand, he pressed it to Stefan's temple and muttered a spell that will knock him out. He doesn't usually use his wand but when dealing with a deprived it's better to have a wand. When Kalia told him about the ingredients he knew it was futile. This is no poison doing but he accepted her soothing anyway. "Quin, take him to his room he'll be knocked out for a while until we can hopefully figure this out" he said calmly though he was about to collapse himself. He'll let Vee back when Stefan was settled in his bed.

Now was the time to know if he truly have the strength to help those who he cared about. He may had been a loner for the most of his life and that didn't change. Vee took a deep breath and up at Jax her hands on his chest "Thank you" she whispered looking up at him. When she heard Hunter call for her she wiped her face and took Jax's hand "I'm okay now, let's go back" she said pulling him towards the study, she wasn't surprised to not find Stefan and Quin so she stood infrong of Hunter suppressing her anger and refusing to look at Kalia "What are we going to do about this?" She asked.
Jax smiled a little at the brave front Vee was having. He was proud to call her as his with that little thing. They were supposed to find each other again and now that they had, it felt like there is many more to come. He tightened his hold on her hand, "Everything's going to be alright," he murmured mostly to himself. He knew that it was. Stefan would get better, Quin would be happy again and everyone would have their own happy ending.

Vee was silent her hand still in Jax's for support. Things will be okay, they got better with Jax didn't they? A voice in her head replied, not before they hit rockbottom. Sighing she realized it was getting late but knew there was no chance of sleeping now, however she needed a shower and a change of clothes. "How long will Stefan be out?" She asked Hunter who shrugged in return. "Why didn't you call me once you knew about this?" She asked irritated now that her head was getting somewhat clearer.
Jax nodded in agreement. Ever since he had found out that he had magic he knew that he was not one of the ordinary people like Harry Potter or Hermoine Granger, fictional as they are. He caressed Vee's hand with his thumb and as he looked at her in the corner of his eye, he was struck awe by her strength and levelheadedness that she was now showing. "I will, I'll go now if you want to." He suggested but he didn't want to leave Vee's side at all. It was like there was some magnet between them that kept him at beside her yet he needed to help his brother.

Vee's eyes widened "What! You were spying on me while having SEX!" Pulling her hand out of Jax's grasp she started pounding Hunter "You nosy son of a bitch have you gone completely mad?!"
Hunter tried pushing her off him "I was just checking to see if you were hurt! I didn't know if you or Stefan were in trouble so I got into your heads!" She still hit him anyway probably just to get out her frustration "Jax take your girl off me!"

Jax smiled deviously, "I don't know, Hunter. You did spied on us and I think Vee has the right to punch you." He said in a voice full of laughter. Watching them made him realized that Hunter's relationship with Vee was strictly on a friendly basis. He must have been clouded with jealousy when he first saw them together but that was before. He crossed his arms over his chest and leaned back on the wall and watched them play it out.

Jax stood still as he sensed magic in the air. It had been always with him and magic. He was able to 'feel' magic when it's around him. He saw the look on Hunter's face and he silently guffawed at the sight of it. He gestured a calming hand at Vee as he walked to her. "If Hunter wasn't in the room, I'd have kissed you by now." He huskily said to Vee as his gaze turned hot and needy. "But I'm sure you're not okay of having Hunter see this so later, okay?" He grinned as he put an arm around her waist so that he can puller closer.

Hunter shook his head as he felt his limbs again. Well he deserved this so he didn't complain, but he didn't apologize either "I'm out of here before you turn me into a toad or something" but Vee ignored him anyway so he walked himself out and headed to Kalia's room. He needed to rest a bit before maybe he'd have a clearer head and Stefan was out anyway.

Jax looked at her with faked innocence, "We won't?" He asked in his lost little boy voice. He never contemplated having this conversation with anyone ever in his life and it turned out to be way better than he thought it would be. Things may be tense with how Stefan was doing but between them, it was like their relationship had gotten a lot closer than these past few days. Was it just a week that he had woken in that basement? It was and ever since he lost his memories it felt good to have a do-over in his life that ended well.

He tried hard not to laugh but it was inevitable because right now his girlfriend was freaking cute and at the same time sexy! Have the gods at last gave him wanted? Heck Yeah! His laughter burst out of him and as held his stomach desperately he saw the surprised look on her face. She was so his that he was about to break all the things she had said about partying and making out. It was just so tempting. After a a full minute of letting his spirits out he wiped the tears off his face. Wow...that was like the first time ever in his life to ever laugh like that and that was saying something. "Okay, okay but don't tempt me with your fiendishly cute face and a body that can make a saint cry to the heavens." He teased in an easy-going manner.

He shook his head and maybe he'd like to do it but seeing the worried look upon her face, it was important to keep things short and simple so in one big stride he took her in his arms and kissed her. Jax decided to look around the study. He was trying to find a book to read when he spotted something at the corner of his vision. Slow steps brought him to the corner of the room where he found a guitar case almost hidden by the shelves. He wondered who played it so he carefully brought the guitar case on one of the tables in the room and he slid the zippers open. What he saw was a gleaming guitar that looked to be well-used. He took the guitar onto his hands and strummed.

Jax was so in his head at that moment that he didn't see Vee coming forward until he saw the angry look on her face. His mind didn't grasp the words she had said and he was aghast when he did. Backing off he raised his hands in surrender as he exclaimed, "What are you saying, Vee?!" What had gotten into her? He stared at her outraged look in her eyes and his body tensed when she held the guitar that he playing a second go tight in one hand. He didn't know why she was acting like this but he wouldn't blow their relationship up with whatever this is.

Jax let his hands falls back to his sides. He caught on the underlying emotion in her voice and her reaction. He ambled to her before cupping her cheek with his left palm. "Please talk to me, Vee. Don't shut me out now." He told her in a hushed voice. He was not an expert in being a caring boyfriend but he knows of being a friend to her. His thumb started drawing circles as he pulled her closer with his other arm. "Believe me when I tell you that I just wanted to know who the guitar belongs to."

He breathed in her scent that was uniquely hers as he whispered, "Then I'm sorry if I was holding it without your permission." He knew that being an orphan felt like since he was also. Growing up was a hard thing to do without someone guiding the way and he was kind of glad that Vee has something to remember her mother by. All he got was a worn-off blanket that had been around his small body when his parents left him. He wondered what it's like to his brother and he hadn't got the chance to bond with him yet since he was always with Vee. Maybe after Stefan got better, he would find the time to have a man to man talk with Quin.

Jax saw how the guitar affected her so much so he didn't made a comment about it. He cleared his throat before grinning at her widely, "I'm sure if you do kick my ass. I'll be getting a greater bargain out of it." He didn't intend to make it as an innuendo but it came out that way so he looked at her body suggestively. This was bound to happen at some point yet in his mind they still had some worries that should be approached before they do the act again. Having her once whet his appetite for more than just a relationship, his control was still there but it has a mind of its own when it goes and comes.

Taunting her was probably not a great idea when she turned to him with was supposed to be an evil look in her eyes. He shook his head and nodded after it, "Forget what I just said. Let's go to them right now," he said urgently as he pushed her to the doorway. No need to tell her that he was itching to hold her close and just hug her. That feeling only strengthened when he shot another look at her eyes. Forgotten or not, he still felt the attraction that had been questionable from the start.

He let Quin carry him since he can barely move and he rested his head on his shoulder dozing off just to wake up when they were in the study. He held tight to Quin scared he might fall, he felt like a toddler and he hated it. This wasn't him! What was wrong with me he kept asking himself coming up with nothing. He closed his eyes again trying to push everything out of his head.
