Mohamed Elshawaf (mshwf) | 7 comments Now I added a book written by me, and assigned it to a non Goodreads author profile, but making a Goodreads author profile feel me uncomfortable, because the reader profile is so suitable for me, i'm a reader at all ,not a writer, i like the design, the favorite shelf, I wanna people see me as a reader not a writer. 2 years and Goodreads is my home my first social network, and I'm proud for being a reader not an author.

but making this prevent me adding an eBook and will not announce (advertise) my book, because the non Goodreads author has no books read and no reviews so no one visit his page.

what can I do?

Nick (nickanthony51) | 400 comments Why do anything? If you really are not a writer, but a reader, and are happy with that, leave as is...

It won't hurt to add a few books. Not that it would matter because my author page had the same thing. I still sold books and gained followers. No big deal.

Also, if you've written a book and have it listed on Goodreads under your name or pen name - you are an author.

Nenia Campbell (neniacampbell) | 165 comments If you do maintain an author profile separate from your GR account just be really careful that you don't have the two accounts interact, or you might find yourself banned from GR for violating the ToS. (:

It has happened a lot lately. ):
