Danie (heyydanie) Okay, so I'm putting in my series on Fictfact, and it turns out I have more ongoing series than I thought. Like...a lot more. It's a little overwhelming!

Make me feel better! How many ongoing series do you have? Do you think you'll ever finish them, or at least catch up?

Oh, I'm at 44 series for right now. I still have more to put in.

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Oh, I'll make ya feel better and fast.... I've got 282 series listed on my FictFact account. It's fairly current, but have some newbies to add. That includes those completed and to-be-completed. More are in the latter category than the first. But, I keep adding more! LOL! :)

message 3: by Danie (last edited May 05, 2013 06:30PM) (new)

Danie (heyydanie) 282! Holy moly! Alright, I feel a bit better. I had to stop putting them in. I'll start again in a little while.

message 4: by Lis (new)

Lis | 4037 comments Steph has me beat, FF sez I have 230.

message 5: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (dawnv) On fict fact I have 218 but I can see all of my historical romance ones are missing so I would guess somewhere in the 250 neighborhood maybe more.

message 6: by Danie (new)

Danie (heyydanie) Okay, so next question - are these all series you keep up with? Or plan on finishing?

message 7: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments OK, so FF says I have 369 series *wipes sweat off brow*.

There would be 10-20 that I probably won't continue, and probably a third to half are current or finished. So a lot of books still to read :D

message 8: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments See, Danie, ya got nuthin' to worry about. We all share your pain. :)

Danie wrote: "are these all series you keep up with? Or plan on finishing?"

No. Like Sandra, I have some series listed there that I have started, but most likely will never continue. And, some (more than I originally thought) are current ~ pending the next release and/or series that have ended.

message 9: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (dawnv) Sounding like a broken record but I agree with Sandra and Steph.

There are some that I will continue with and others that I will let go not to mention there are a few series in FF that have already been completed.

You know I love FF but I wish I could import my book list, I hate all of the double typing.

message 10: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) I don't feel so bad now after reading this thread. I have 187 series in FF - 112 are at various stages of completion, 54 are completed and 21 not started.

message 11: by D.G. (last edited May 06, 2013 12:25PM) (new)

D.G. | 2752 comments I have only 89 series in FF but I only put in there those series where I've read more than one book. I don't see the point of tracking series there if I'm not planning to continue past the first book. Also, I don't include first in series that I haven't read. If I were to add all the books in my 'first in series' shelf, I'll have over 200.

That said, even out of those 89, some are complete and there are some that I'm on the fence and may not finish. My 'next in series' shelf (which has the next books in the series I plan to continue), only has 59 books.

Valerie ~ Val Hall ~ | 9662 comments Oh, I feel better now. Since some put their member's list here on SOS, I used Josie's list to make mine. It helped a bit to prioritize series...who am I kidding, I'm still trying to drop series but it never works.
So far I have
38 Completed series
84 up-to-date
56 I'm trying finish/catch up
43 in a no rush stage
20 abandoned for now
....and 317 series on FF (I think I'm missing a few on Fictfact then....oh well.

message 13: by Steph, Serious series addict (last edited May 06, 2013 01:36PM) (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments I have the same issue, Val. I try to drop some series, but it never works for me either. I keep thinking the series might improve, but rarely does. I have pushed some so far down on my TBR list that they might as well be dropped. That works for now. :)

I need to get back to my series list. I have so many lists like that. When I start them I have every intention to keep up with them, but they usually end up neglected. :(

Congrats on everyone's current/completed series! :D

DG, I think my need to add all the series I've started, whether I'll finish them or not, is due to my OCDemoness. I just have to see them all listed there. I thought about leaving off the others, but it just didn't take.

message 14: by Nichole (new)

Nichole | 1199 comments I have 204 listed, 36 are current, and I probably won't finish about 6-8 of them. I have started 17 new series this year so far ><. There are a couple that I might not get back to.

message 15: by D.G. (new)

D.G. | 2752 comments Thankfully, my degree of OCD doesn't require that level of tracking, LOL! I'm really fine letting a series go after one try but if I were to count those, I'll probably be close to 300!

Kel (Faerie-bookworm) (faerie-bookworm) | 510 comments Too many and not enough, I guess I need to add stuff to FF but that will take forever. :D

;) Thankfully, mine only razzes me when I don't list them all on FF. Not so adamant with GR.

Kel, I couldn't have said it better! Too many and not enough ...

Kel (Faerie-bookworm) (faerie-bookworm) | 510 comments I'm now working on updating FF and so far only have about 95 series but that's not even close. Too bad I have to work, otherwise I could probably get it caught up in a couple hours....maybe closer to days. :D

message 19: by Mary X (last edited May 07, 2013 12:34PM) (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 2484 comments Too many to count. Some I don't care about reading in order and so I don't bother tracking them that much.

I'm trying to focus on finishing some up this year.

I think I had over 100 when I first logged them into Fictfact. Maybe 200. But then I delete all the ones that I don't like anymore, the ones that can be read in any order and a lot of the old trilogies I've read. I don't really need to keep track of a trilogy I read 15 years ago. It's not likely to suddenly have a 4th book added. I have them all marked as read here.

A book away from an episode of hoarders (fidgit77) | 740 comments According to FF, I've listed 325 series.
I'm current on 25 of those, 1 book away from being current on another 6, maybe 10-15 series that I gave up on and probably 150 of those I haven't even started yet but I own the first book in the series.
The rest fall in the middle. I got a lot of reading to catch up on. :D

message 21: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments For my not started or read just the first book, I've added them if I own the book or books. just so I know to go looking for them, on occasion when I can't think what I want to read next. LOL.

message 22: by Danie (new)

Danie (heyydanie) I haven't added the ones I haven't started, even if I own the first in the series (Night Huntress series, BDB, and a whole list of others). I suppose that would bring my count WAY up.

message 23: by Lindsay (new)

Lindsay (lindz2012) | 5 comments I am at 86 series, Some are in current/up to date or waiting for the next book, some are not started and some are.

chucklesthescot I'm scared to count but I'm thinking 3 figures...

message 26: by Annedroid4000 (new)

Annedroid4000 (bibliophileanne) | 15 comments I just started Fictfact today and project. Just thinking of the number of series I'm gonna have to enter is enough to give me a headache. Any tips on making this process easy on me?

message 27: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments Put your favourite and ongoing series in first ;)

message 28: by chucklesthescot (new)

chucklesthescot I've got 134 series on the go according to FictFact but I think it includes series where I read the first book and decided to skip the rest of the series
