Best self-published books

Just wondering, since a lot of stuff coming out is self-published, what is (in your opinion) the best self-published book you have read?

The Remnant by Chandler McGrew.

It's hard to narrow it down to just one, so how about one series: The Muirwood Trilogy by Jeff Wheeler. (He is currently working with 47North, but these books were originally self-pub'd.)

Sewerville by Aaron Saylor. I was really impressed by the writing in that.

If you like crime fiction, check out Over the Shoulder by fellow indie author Jason Beech. The book needed a better editor but was a great premise and he's got some strong descriptive passages.

Definately the vampire series by Carole Gill.
Excellant books. I loved all of them.

For all you action adventure and crime readers a must read and favorite of mine is D*E*D Dead.

I'm pretty surprised at the number of good self-pubs out there this year. I like Cuban Sun by Ann and Bryn Bauer.

Angelfall, and also Free Falling.

I've found quite a few passably good books as well, but I enjoyed those in particular.

definitely Angelfall is the best self published book I have found. I also like Nicky Charleswith her Lycan series The Matingetc. As you can see, fantasy fiction is a genre that I love to read.
