Aria walked in and sat down next to Eli- per usual. Ms. Williams had paired them up since their gifts were so similar. She didn't say anything.

Aria smiled when Mr. Sherman handed her the homework.
"Hello Mr. Sherman, how are you?" Ms. Williams said walking into the class.
"Hello Mr. Sherman, how are you?" Ms. Williams said walking into the class.
Ms. Williams raised her eyebrows at the man. "Well, you'd better get to your next class, Mr. Sherman." She smiled. "I need to start my lesson. And, Lyric, dear? Please do not roll your eyes at me."
"Goodbye, Mr. Sherman." Ms. Williams said, in a dismissive tone.
Aria groaned inwardly, thinking of all the homework she had.
Aria groaned inwardly, thinking of all the homework she had.

"Okay, listen up guys." Ms. Williams shut the door. "We are going to talk about the pros, and cons of having a gift. Carly, phone. Now." She said holding out her hand.
"Please don't use it again in my class," Ms. Williams said. "Okay. You'll each have a chance to speak about what you like, and what you dislike about your gifts. Any volunteers to go first?" She spoke clearly, and matter of factly.
Ms. Williams nodded. "Is this coming directly from personal experience?" She asked Zayna. "Do you know someone, a family member perhaps, who you think thinks of you as a freak?"

"Very good, Carly." Ms. Williams smiled. "Anyone else?"
Aria raised her hand.
"Go ahead, Amaria." Ms. Williams nodded.
"Well, I agree with Carly about both things. It's hard to control sometimes, and with me and Eli... We can't. At least not yet,"
Aria raised her hand.
"Go ahead, Amaria." Ms. Williams nodded.
"Well, I agree with Carly about both things. It's hard to control sometimes, and with me and Eli... We can't. At least not yet,"
"Well, we can talk about controlling powers in a minute, Amaria. I think Lyric has something she wants to share. Lyric?" Ms. Williams put her hands on her hips.

Aria looked over to Eli. She wanted to agree, but she got the feeling that he didn't like her very much. She looked away quickly to fill out her chart.

Ms. Williams nodded. "This is what this class is for. You can all let out your feelings here, we all know what it feels like to feel different. No one will judge anyone. Thank you for sharing your opinion, Lyric." Ms. WIlliams said. "I still haven't heard from someone... Eli?"
Aria looked at him. "You read me." She said quietly. "I think Ms. Williams wants you to share," She said softly.

"Do you all agree with what Eli said?" Ms. Williams said walking to the white board, picking up a marker.
"Good." Ms. Williams said. "Thank you, Eli." She said to him, then she uncapped the black whiteboard marker and wrote: Control on the board.
"I can tell you're rolling your eyes, Lyric." Ms. Williams said. "I know it's only the second week we've know each other, but I expect some respect."
Aria raised her hand tentatively.
"Aria?" Ms. Williams called.
"Well, I think of controlling my gift. But I also think of... I don't know, I think of control as a bad thing. Like, too much control from a parent will only make the kid fight back." She said.

Ms. Williams looks around the room. The students were getting too distracted. "Carly, phone, now." She walked over to her holding out her hand.
