Fortunately, New Zealand has legalized gay marriage and the law will be passed in August 2013, so what is stopping Australia?
((Woo you go girl!))
We are an equal race, which we all treat and give each other equal respect, which we deserve. So why is it a big deal to everybody, if the same sex wanted to get married? Yes marriage is an important part in our society and it’s voluntary, you had a choice in the matter of whom you wanted to marry and not be judged. A few decades before, marriage was extremely important in the community and you had to marry, whom your parents approved of and follow the traditions of family values.
But don’t we get a chance to marry whom we want, whether it would be same sex or opposite sex partners? Isn’t it time for a change? We have followed the traditions that we’ve been taught when we were brought up, we could continue following the traditions and allow marriage to same sex partners. Put yourself in their shoes and imagine how they would feel, when they found out that they like the same sex or when they found the one, they love the most and cannot commit to them legally. It would be as we are discriminating others who cannot control their feelings for the same sex. I find that truly appalling for a race of people to be judged for who they are, once again, I say that we are equal and we all should give each other equal respect, so why can’t we do that for same sex partners?
I would like to think in this day and age, that equal opportunity should exist for all, regardless of gender.

I will give a topic and you can come up with reasons for the agree or disagree team.
1st topic is...
Why should same-sex marriges be legalised in Australia and why!
Let the debating begin!
