Damien walked through the forest, unfortunately hunting drakis. He sighed. He hated his job but it was chosen for him so he had to do it. He kept his bow drawn with an arrow as he teased with caution among the sleepy trees.
Austin flew over the trees and breathed in the fresh air, happy to be out of her kingdom for once. She landed in a tree and sat down on a branch.
He heard rustling among the trees and tensed. Damien silently crept towards the sounds, hoping it was not a draki. He had no intention to have an innocent's blood spilled on his hands.
She smiled and breathed in more of the air coming from the trees. She looked down and saw a hunter. "Crap!" she frowned and tried to fly away as her wing got stuck in the trees. She fell out of the tree and yelped.
His eyes widened when he saw her fall out of the tree. He ran to her and stood over her, drawing back his arrow and aiming it at her chest... Then he saw her face. He had never heard of such a beautiful draki in all of his life. The stories all said they were horrible, hideous creatures. Even though he never believed the stories he could never imagine such a sight as he was seeing this very moment. He lowered his weapon. "you... You can't be a draki..." He murmured, staring down at her.
She whimpered in pain, flinching at the sight of his weapon. "P-Please don't hur-hurt m-m-me" she stuttered scarcely
He dropped the weapon and knelt beside her. He frowned slightly "i won't harm you, i swear... Where are you hurt?" He gently tried to help her sit up. He was still baffled by her astonishing beauty.
She whimpered in pain again and sighed. "M-My wing is broken" she cried at the pain, it was so intense and hurting so bad. She looked up at the human and into his eyes. A hunter is helping me? she thought to herself
He looked at it and frowned "it definitely is." He stood, picking her up. "i should take you to a safe place so i can treat your wound." He looked at her, into her eyes "what is your name?"
She looked down at her feet, realizing she was glowing. Calm down she thought. "I'm Aus-Austin" she whimpered
He nodded "my name is Damien... You're glowing." He murmured, perplexed.
She lightly blushed and looked up at him. "I don't know why."
"ah yes." He shook off his awe and continued to carry her. He saw the sun was beginning to set and curse "no, not now." He muttered.
She whimpered in pain as he carried her further. "Wh-What?"
"nothing just... Prepare yourself for when the sun sets and the world is enveloped in darkness..." He murmured, coming to a small opening in the forest. There was soft grass and beautiful flowers, he hunched gras together to make a comfortable bed for her and set her down gently. "may i see your wing?"
She yelped in pain when he sat her down. She went back to her draki form and revealed her wings.
He sighed "this is going to hurt, please accept my apologies." He got some bark and vines, making a kind of splint for her wings so that they could heal properly.
She frowned "Okay..." she sighed, still unsure if this hunter was just tricking her, not understanding why he was helping her.
He put the bark around her wing, putting the bones back in their rightful places before securing the splint with the vines. "um sorry." He apologized again as he finished.
She cried and whimpered in pain. "Its okay"
He looked up.at the sky. It was too late to run away. She was going to see his night time transformation. He turned away and covered his face as he finally transformed. "i...I'm going to look at you again... So, please, don't scream..."
"just don't..." He turned, not looking her in the eyes but she could see his face clearly.
She looked at him and looked away as she turned, afraid of what was going to happen if she did scream. She didn't even know what to do about getting back to her kingdom after this hour. She finally got the guts to look at him and almost screamed, she held it back and slid back and away from him quickly. "Who are you?"
He sighed "a cursed human. Please, don't be scared." He murmured sadly "i won't hurt you. if i wanted to i could have by now, right?"
She calmed down and sighed, still a little scared. "O-Okay"
((that's ok. Me to))"I'll leave if you want." He said, getting up slowly so he wouldn't startle her.
"N-no! Its okay." she exclaimed
"but... I'm ugly... I don't deserve to be in such a beautiful woman's presence while i look like this..." He murmured, looking away. "i apologize for being so disgusting in front of you, but after i made your splint it was already too late to run away before you could see this form."
She frowned and got up, limp from the fall. "I-I don't care" she stumbled up to him and fell on him
He caught her "please lay back down. You need rest." He stated helping her back to the bed of gras and flowers he had made for her.
"No I dont" she whimpered as she laid back down
"yes you do." He murmured, gently pushing some hair out of her face "rest will help your wounds heal faster." He insisted.
She sighed and frowned "O-Okay"
"I'll stay here and protect you from animals and other Hunters." He murmured, sitting next to her. "i won't bother you, i swear."
She smiled softly for the first time around him, feeling safe and secure. "Thank you" she murmured as she fell asleep
He could help but smile, seeing her relax. He sighed and looked up at the moon "seems I've found someone that doesn't mine the curse. A soft voice whispered back to him. ~ now just get her to say 'i love you' and it shall be lifted ~
((Shall we go to the next morning?))
((yes!)) In the morning Damien had fallen asleep only ten minutes ago and in the morning light looked normal.

Austin woke up and found her wing was healed. She turned back into human and stood up to find Damien asleep. She watchd him as he turned back to himself. "Wow" she murmured

He opened his eyes slowly before quickly sitting upright. "oh no! I fell asleep!"
Austin jumped back, a little frightened by the sudden movement
He looked at her. "oh, I'm sorry. i didn't mean to startle you." He looked at her wing and smiled "seems like you're fine now. That's good."
She smiled shyly "Y-Yeah I guess"
He stood "i guess i should leave then..." He murmured.
She frowned "N-no! Please don't!" she yelled without hesitation, wondering what had gotten her to say this
