Lisa Jay (lisajaystudio) | 28 comments Hi, I'm currently looking for projects to work on to build my portfolio for starting university this year as a mature student, and also for the practice! I'm offering free book trailers and cover designs. If you would like to see an example of my work you can view my latest movie teaser trailers on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lOLnPA... or check out my Facebook page to see all my design work, https://www.facebook.com/PixelPixieDe....

I'd love to hear from you! Many thanks, Lisa

Justin (justinbienvenue) | 2274 comments Hey Lisa,
congrats on all of your hard work and what a great opportunity. So you make the book trailers yourself? And what kind of information do you need?

I am definitely interested in something like this as I just recently had my second book published last week and am looking to expand my promotion aspects.

message 3: by Kaine (new)

Kaine Andrews (kaineandrews) | 48 comments This sounds like a cool idea; what would you need for such a project?

Also, because I used to be a video geek, curiosity makes me ask: What kind of computer setup/software do you use for your work?

message 4: by Peggy (new)

Peggy Holloway | 393 comments Yes, please. Pick me! You can do any of my books for your portfolio! How about this one? I don't have a trailer for it yet. http://www.amazon.com/Southern-Greed-...

message 5: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Jay (lisajaystudio) | 28 comments Hi Justin! I do all the work myself, yes. I'd need lots of info about the book, or a copy to read myself. Then we could discuss what main points you'd like to get across in the trailer etc. I then do you lots of ideas for approval and we kind of work out the final piece together. You have full control from start to finish.

Maybe you can send me some more info at pixelpixiedesign@gmail.com and we can talk from there?

Many thanks, Lisa

message 6: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Jay (lisajaystudio) | 28 comments Hi Kaine, maybe if you drop me an email at pixelpixiedesign@gmail.com we can discuss everything there. I can explain how I work etc, also please note my response to Justin.

I use a combination of software, including Vegos Pro 12 for rendering and Audacity for the audio edits.

Hope to hear from you! Lisa

message 14: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Jay (lisajaystudio) | 28 comments Thank you everyone so far who has responded to my request! I'm going to hold the thread for now as I fear I may be inundated with responses and won't be able to work with you all and offer a quality service and trailers! Everyone who has emailed me so far, thank you and I look forward to working with you all over the next few weeks! I will respond to each individually. Some great variation on the books out there... very exciting! Thanks again, Lisa

message 29: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Jay (lisajaystudio) | 28 comments Hi guys,
I just wanted to let you all know that I'm now working on my third book trailer/video since making this original post. I've been lucky enough to receive paid work so I'm sure you'll appreciate me putting these projects first. I will endeavour to fulfil all my commitments to complete your trailers but am unable to give a time scale as obviously commissioned work takes priority.
If you are keen to have your trailer brought forward please let me know. Prices range from £35 - £100.
You can contact me direct at pixelpixiedesign@gmail.com.

Kind regards to all, Lisa

Alex Stefansson (paradisesquandered) | 31 comments Hi Lisa,

Your work is incredible! Even though I think 50 Shades is, well, just awful, I couldn't take my eyes of the trailer you created. Nicely done!

I'd love for you to design a book trailer for my debut novel, Paradise Squandered, but I can see that I missed my window of opportunity.

I wanted to leave a comment for you anyway, though. You are very talented. Good luck on your future endeavors!

message 31: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Jay (lisajaystudio) | 28 comments Thank you Alex, for you kind words! Haha, yes... Fifty Shades isn't to everyone's taste, but thanks so much for watching my video and for your lovely comment. Maybe we'll get to work together some time! Lisa :)

message 32: by Charlotte (new)

Charlotte (thebookbug39) | 1 comments well, it seems like you are a bit busy now, but I would love one.

And what info do you need?
I seriously want this for more than one of my pieces (they aren't on here) please email me at bmbbooks@outlook.com.

Thanks ever so much!

Nicole Banks | 65 comments Hi Lisa,

I would love to help you out. I would be interested in a book trailer if you still have time to do it. I don't want to swamp you or overwhelm you I see you have had a great response to this. If you still have time and are willing to take on another project let me know.

Thanks,

message 41: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Jay (lisajaystudio) | 28 comments Thanks for all the comments!

Just in case you missed the comment I posted a couple of weeks ago, I'm not currently taking on free trailers. I have been extremely lucky to be offered paid work, and obviously this takes priority. I am taking bookings so if a commissioned trailer is something you might be interested in, please do drop me a line at pixelpixiedesign@gmail.com for prices... and we'll discuss your requirements! You can also see more on my GoodReads group -

message 48: by Thea (new)

Thea Atkinson (theaatkinson) | 30 comments wow. nice stuff. you seem to have a good ple to choose from, but if you haven't found what scratches an itch creatively, I'd love to have a trailer for Theta Waves.

Theda has the power to change the world--if she can just survive the Apocalypse.

Theda has a special gift. The trouble is, using that gift is the one thing in New Earth punishable by death. Alone and living on the streets, there are two things that get her through each day: tricking out her gift so she can eat, and blissing out on her drug of choice so she can forget her past.

It's the craving for a fix that gets her into the worst trouble when a rugged and charismatic bounty Hunter discovers her secret. Now she is on a new quest for survival-- one where the very man who hunts her down becomes the person she must trust in order to find safety.

Theta Waves episodes in order:

·Phoenix
·Dragon
·Agni

A novella of 20, 000 words with a good bit of steamy romance in a coming of age post apocalyptic world with some time travel, paranormal notions, and reincarnation concepts thrown in.

Nancy Jarvis (screalwriter) | 56 comments Would you consider a trailer for "The Murder House," my new release, the fifth book in a cozy-style mystery series featuring a Realtor/amateur sleuth? Here's the one little thing I put on facebook (gives you an idea about my sense of humor) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tFswH3....
