Hi Faith! Thanks! It is SO SO SO important. Social media is a part of our everyday lives now. Creating relationships, building your readership, staying connected to other authors who are going through the same ups and downs you are, I cannot stress enough how essential it is!

Plus, it's just fun! Yesterday, I had a total impromptu almost "book club" discussion with two of my readers on twitter! It was so amazing to talk about my characters and story with them!

Hi Karen-Anne. Thanks for adding GSM to your list! The best advice I can give about promoting on social media is to try your best to not make it promotion. It should be about genuinely connecting to your readers. Of course there's always the occasion "buy my book" tweet or facebook post, but for the most part it should be about fun stuff going on in your life, writing ups and down, really "meeting" people as much as possible. If you engage genuinely, a social media following WILL happen for you!
