I've finished Unforgotten and rated it 4 stars.
Actually found it difficult to rate it. It's one of those books filled with pictures; poignant, warm, dark, creepy, hopeful, etc... As they say a picture paints a thousand words. I don't feel that I could rate it based on these pictures though I do admire the different elements of photos, drawings, etc. The "story" itself started with something warm then plunged into bleakness and ended with a kind of hope.

Err, well, I'm only fast because it's like a picture book for adults! I don't even quite know where it fits in 'genre' and I'm not sure if children would actually get it and not be creeped out by the pictures. 'twas kinda strange...
I finished The Innocence of Father Brown and gave it two stars. I just can t get into short stories.

I am actually doing a year long celebration of short stories this year, Fairlee. I have to say, it is a bit difficult to find good short story books that aren't mysteries.

Yeah! I finished my second book too!

Finished my second book. The Secret Life of Bletchley Park: The WWII Codebreaking Centre and the Men and Women Who Worked There - 4 stars
Oh, gee. I forgot to post my first book that I finished - Ghost Riders by Sharyn McCrumb. I gave it 4*.
Posted in the 2-book team thread that I finished my first book, but neglected to do so here. It was: Last to Die and I gave it 3 stars. Book #2 is in progress...
My third book finished: The White Tiger. I gave it 3 stars, but that it was never a 3-star book for me: in some ways 2-stars, in others 4-stars -- so I took an average.

Susan, when I read this book, it turned out to be only 2* for me.
However, I can recommend White Tiger by Michael Allen Dymmoch. This one was a 5* read for me.

That does look good, Bea. But it looks like I have 4 others in the series to read before I get to that one.

Susan, I read it as a stand-alone book, and it was fine.

Yay, I've finished my third book just in time!

Lyn's probably busy with summer holidays :)
In any ways, the call will not be until (at least) the 1st of the month so let's give her a few days, huh? ;)

I finished the first book of my "series" theme read
by Darynda Jones. This is the latest in the "Charley Davidson" series. IMO this is the best book of the series. It introduces a couple of new character who I hope we'll see in future books, and also raises a few more questions regarding Charley's relationship w/ Reyes and her "battle" with his father. I love the humor in this book and can't wait for the 6th in the series.
