I have to say that I prefer Valentine to the Magister.

I haven't read City of Bones yet.

I started with this series because they said it's better than TMI. Too bad I find the hype for Clockwork Angel disappointing.

So many mysteries and questions about the characters' choices and personalities. The ending wasn't much of an annoying cliffhanger. Didn't buy the love triangle and the romance, too.

But I'll still read books 2-3, though I will not put them on my priority. Maybe these things I find annoying will be answered through them.

I finally finished Clockwork Angel. I enjoyed most of it. (view spoiler)[ I agree with Mei that it was weird that the role of the clockwork angel wasn't explained, and that was the name of the book! And none of the characters acted the least bit surprised or puzzled when the angel started flying. Kind of not believable. And the love-hate thing going on between Tessa and Will kind of reminds me of Jace and the main character in the Mortal Instruments series (wow, blanking on her name here). I like Jem. It seems like he likes Tessa too -- I kind of hope they end up together. I was fun seeing Magnus Bane again, from the Mortal Instruments series. I was totally surprised by who the Magister really was, so that was good. (hide spoiler)] This first book was a good setup for lots of good future stores, so I'm looking forward to reading Book 2, Clockwork Prince. I'll probably start it tomorrow.

I finished Clockwork Prince. It was good, but why so long!? It felt like it took a long time to finish it. I forget how young some of the Shadowhunters are - they seem to fall in love so quickly! (view spoiler)[ I was really surprised that Jessamine betrayed them for a man she only knew for like one day! And I'm not sure who I want Tessa to be with, but I personally like Jem better. But it seems like Tessa likes Will more. Oh this terrible triangle! Did something similar happen in City of Bones? I kept getting a deja vu feeling like I had read about a similar love triangle before. (hide spoiler)] I'll be interested to see where the story goes in the next book.

Im still not done yet D: It took me a month to read Clockwork Angel where it was possible to finish it in 4 days. I agree they fall in love easily!! I'm not really liking this trilogy and I'm scared now to read TMI .. I guess I'm not a fan of Clare's work unfortunately..

You might like The Mortal Instruments. I liked those books better than these so far because they take place in modern times and (from what I remember) I think more stuff happened in each book. Although this last book was long, it felt like not much happened.
