Utkarsh (utkes) | 32 comments I've recently began reading The Power of Five.
I'm up to the second book in the series.
I won't ask what happens later,
but does it end at four books or five books?
After all, it is meant to be the power of FIVE.

Utkarsh (utkes) | 32 comments hey, great to see u tom. I was expecting to see u in similar groups as me.

realy

Matt Gibson (lone_wulf) | 8 comments I think that it would have to be five books, because of the reason that Veritas gave. It is the Power of Five and I hope that AH can wrap the story up in so few books, because there is so much that he could write about it.

Andrew (komikia) | 8 comments Ive read necropolis and as much as there is 'covered', there is going to have to be another book to wrap it up.

I know, and i can't wait for it!

message 8: by Utkarsh (new)

Utkarsh (utkes) | 32 comments honestly, the power of five series isn't very detailed like other series such as 'keys to the kingdom' or 'deltora quest'

The last book of this series better be good and very detailed.

true

Rohan | 31 comments i didn't like necropolis that much as compared to the other books. i think there was a lot less action and excitement !!

message 11: by Utkarsh (new)

Utkarsh (utkes) | 32 comments My opinion of Necropolis (which I recently read) Rohan was the total opposite of your opinion of it. It was the best book in the series. So much action, detail and events unfolding. It was really really cool. It got me back into reading again.

Yay!!!!!!

message 13: by Rohan (new)

Rohan | 31 comments well thats ur opinion but i think the others were better than necropolis.

message 14: by Utkarsh (new)

Utkarsh (utkes) | 32 comments This is my opinion

Raven's Gate = suck
Evil Star = suck
Nightrise = good
Necropolis = AWESOME!

message 15: by tom (new)

tom | 33 comments Mod
and what do you think Rohan?

message 16: by Rohan (new)

Rohan | 31 comments actually i found that
ravens gate was kinda shitty
while evil star was good
nightrise was amazing
and necropolis was just good.

i never said that necropolis sucked but what i meant was that i personally found it as being a disappointment.

What didn't you like in the first book?

message 18: by Utkarsh (new)

Utkarsh (utkes) | 32 comments What I hated about the first one.

Just not enough detail about the Old Ones, and the Gate opening and all the creatures and battles. Like.. there's a whole world of imagination in the author's mind.. but it wasn't expressed clearly.

message 19: by Rohan (new)

Rohan | 31 comments yea i agree and also it was kinda boring as the narrator was bringing us upto speed in the entire novel. that really bores me a lot!

message 20: by Utkarsh (new)

Utkarsh (utkes) | 32 comments What I hated about Evil Star was when the gate opened and how there was a battle between Matt and Chaos.
.. like.. there wasn't much description about what the King of the Old Ones was like .. and the appearance. And also, not much description about the Old Ones either. All it says is that they look like giant animals.

hmmm.. dumb.

Poorly written (first 2 books)
I'm glad he got his act together with the 3rd and 4th book, but I really need to see more description of the Old Ones and what they look like. Still sorta confusing.

But the series is somewhat likeable anyways.

message 21: by Caoilinn (new)

Caoilinn | 1 comments I agree book 4 was really good but i also think that ravens gate was great too

message 22: by Kag12 (new)

Kag12 | 1 comments i am half way through nightrise! and IMO the best book yet was ravens gate. i liked all book up to now and i agree with it not being a very detailed series (the harry potter and other books i have read are a lot more detailed) but i try and keep in mind that they are written for 12 year olds (i dont mean that to be offensive in anyway tho)

message 23: by Sam (new)

Sam | 2 comments U|t|kzzz i wanted to say that i enjoyed the first book and thort that the lack of detail on the old ones was there to draw the reader in and buy the other books

message 24: by Utkarsh (new)

Utkarsh (utkes) | 32 comments was it really meant to be written for 12 year olds?
O___O

I guess I should read more books targeted towards my age group.

message 25: by Rohan (new)

Rohan | 31 comments you know what i am tired of this! for about 1 and a half years we have been playing the waiting game, waiting for the fifth book to be released. while the author is writing the over cliched and repetitive alex rider series. which frankly should have ended after Ark Angel, but cuz he is getting good money for writing about a boy who survives everywhere he goes somehow is starting to get on my nerve. the guy does not want to seem to finish a project that he started which he has now realized has a plot that would be too hard and too detailed to write in one book. the author really needs to try to finish the power of five series even if it is the less popular than the rider series, which frankly sound as if they are just being carried forward without any real sign of and end. whereas he has started a product which should have ended ages ago.

well what i want to say here is that the 5th book mite never come out as he mite get cold feet reagrding the plot that has considerably increased and is at an abyss. not to get me wrong but i want him to finish the series but why in heavens name does he release another od those rider books!!!

message 26: by Utkarsh (new)

Utkarsh (utkes) | 32 comments So your saying that this series might never end, as never did pentagram? What a shame disaster /:

Well... There are some other great books out there. Sure it would be nice to see this series have a finishing title. I'm assuming that the author writes these when he's in a trance or state of mind or simply in his spare time. Maybe he has difficulty achieving either.

message 27: by George (new)

George | 1 comments also rohan if u read the A/R books carefully u will se that he is 14 in stormbreaker (bk1) and in crocodile tears (bk8) he is still 14

ive had a bit of a look around and i cant find a title or a release date for the fifth Pof5 book

message 28: by Rohan (new)

Rohan | 31 comments yeah the whole thing is a bit messed up. the guy has passed like 8 missions in 20 months but still manages to be a 14 year old kid. wau to keep it real horowitz!!

anyways the power of five has been a great series but due to the writer's lack of finishing an existing series but rather continuing with a now cliched book series. i dont really care if he finishes it as i have given up hope on that book!!

message 29: by Rohan (new)

Rohan | 31 comments i just read on horowitz's site that there is gonna be a fifth book and it is gonna be a 200,000 word which shall take him ages to write.

plus there is gonna be more rider books!! so sounds like there is still hope in this one but the book wont be coming out anytime soon!!

i am not sure if i can trust this too much but this the only thing to go by so i am gessing that we will all have to accept this! the earliest i am assuming that the book may come out is 2012!!

message 30: by Pat (new)

Pat (swissexy) | 1 comments On wikipedia it sets the release date to january 2013 and the tirle is supposedly going to be chaos... p.s. the last alex rider book is called scorpia rising and has been released already

message 31: by Samm (new)

Samm Bradshaw (Samm4Albino) | 1 comments actually I thought the whole series was brilliant, so i dont know how uu can say the 1st and 2nd one sucked! but with a 200,000 word deadline and the the other last alex Rider its gona be a tough squeeze for AH to get it out and with him doin a tribute book to Arthur Conan-Doyle on Sherlock and it'll be lucky if the 5th book will be out by 2013.

message 32: by Sharodz101 (new)

Sharodz101 | 2 comments i got scorpia rising from our school library and its reallyy cool but sad at the same time.

Yassen won't have Alex in it, apparently. I think it might be set in the past.

its interesting how many times the title of the last one has changed...
It was supposed to be chaos which is not a bad name. then Death Portal which just sounds like a badly made free online game at miniclip and Finally oblivion.

Any bets on another name change?

Oh and i think you have got it all there Bddddmnz!
