Simone You know how you visualise actors or people you know in the roles of the characters you are reading about? I am sorry to all the Jamie fans out there… but I keep picturing Shrek. It’s INSANE! I can’t shake it!!! I’ve read books 1, 2 and 3 so far… perhaps I need to channel Sean Connery before starting book 4!

Simone LOL! not the green part I admit, but I just conjure up a big bulky lumbering brute as opposed to an athletic sexy fit man. I'm doomed.

Penny My goodness thats a really shocker "Shrek"???? Certainly not my idea of Jamie!

Rebe I have a hard time picturing Jamie, too. I've never thought of him as Shrek, but I've never thought of him as really attractive, either, even though Claire says he is and describes him as handsome.

Caro you really have imagination! NOT my idea of Jamie!

Simone Caro - I think I lack imagination. If I had some, I'd be able to visualize Jamie properly! HA!

I can't stop giggling. Maybe if you listened to the next book. Porter's distinct voice characteration might banish Shrek.

Joana I'm slightly confused, amused AND puzzled by this thread xD I've seen some really diverse ideas, but I have to admit that not for one moment would I have imagined that someone would picture Jamie like shrek! To me (and a lot of women, from what I've gathered) he's like the perfect man o.o

Simone Perhaps I should have read an illustraded version!

Meghan Beverly Get the graphic novel. It's called "The Exile". It should help ;)

Angie Elle I never pictured him to look like Shrek, but I have to admit that I never thought of him as being particularly attractive.

Kathy That's funny!!

Yes the graphic novel will help! But I always imagined Jamie as the actor Sean Bean (Ned Stark from Game of Thrones).

WOW, yes...lovely

Joyce Nothing any of us says can affect how you choose to visualize a character. I sure would never think of Shrek, except for that she keeps talking about how tall he is which is "Shrek like" If you want to see Jamie the way the rest of us do, you can!

Linda This one of Gerald Butler is close but needs red hair. http://musicandcelebrities.com/wp-con...

Linda Claire fell for his rugged good looks and his stubbornness. How he held himself

Simone You will all be happy to know that I finished book 4 and thanks to all the tips above, there was no hint-o-shrek at all!

Megpie I can't picture him with red hair, I keep trying but for some reason I want it to be black! Lol.

Tammy Beaman We have a large Scottish friend, so I picture him with red hair.

Linda Meagan wrote: "I can't picture him with red hair, I keep trying but for some reason I want it to be black! Lol."

I have no trouble imagining the red hair plus blue eyes. Not a pretty boy but hard and rugged good looking. Strong. Been through a few battles. Hair not straight but long and slightly messy with curls.

Nice! That ones good. Close I think.

Tammy Beaman Wonderful picture. He needs to be in my Top 5

Dee Sam Hueghan is the potential Jamie right now - per DG's twitter/facebook accounts - she saw his audition and said he was Jaime to her...he's Scottish, 6'3"

Yes, that could be Jamie with red hair. Very nice, only now that I'm on book four he needs to be older!

Not bad as the younger Jamie. Needs a little toughening up though. Still think Gerard has the mature Jamie down.

Sexy as can possibly be, but maybe too old to play Jamie in the first 2 books. But boy what eye candy!!!

Dee I have a hypothesis that they will keep the same actors for Jamie/Claire through-out - I mean look at what they did to Brad Pitt in the Curious Case of Benjamin Button...

Sam Hueghan IS officially cast as Jamie and Diana says he's exactly what she had in mind. You have to remember, he was 19 when Claire first meets him!

Here's a pic of Sam with red hair:

Dee I know he is...my post was made right before the official annoucement came out...and he was 22 when they meet, not 19

Christina Teilmann Chris Hemsworth with red hair, that's how I imagine Jamie when reading. The actor they casted just doesn't seem... masculine enough to me.

Mrsbooks I can not see Gerald Butler as Jamie. Maybe Jamie who's 50 years old and older, but not 23 year old Jamie. Definitely not!

I like Gerald Butler and everything and think he's really good looking. But when you look at your average 23 year old male, you can see the age difference BIG time.

I think the actor they choose is close to perfect. Would be easier to tell if he had red hair in the photo. But if the show progresses to when they're older I don't think Sam will fit the role.

Anita Anderson I have to admit Gerard Butler would do it for me any day of the week and twice on Sunday ;-) ... as Jamie.
