Sam (librarymouse81) This is the discussion for our 'whatever' book for May, Touch the Dark by Karen Chance. As with the April BOTM, let's refrain from spoilers until at least the 16th of the month. Enjoy the reading everyone. :)

Sam (librarymouse81) Well, since I drained my NOOK battery again reading Ghost Planet, I am going to start Touch the Dark. I am really looking forward to this.

Sam (librarymouse81) Okay, so I'm about 20% into this book so far and I am not as absorbed into the story as I was last month with Magic Bites, but it is still interesting. At one point I read three pages that were just physical descriptions of several different characters on the vampire Senate, and honestly, I could only say that I vividly recall one or two of those vampires because they are the ones who do most of the speaking.

Has anyone else started reading yet?

Pamela Kulczyk | 8 comments It does start a little slow but it gets better. My sister said the same thing and now she's hooked on the series too.

Angie Outland (angie_outland) | 15 comments It does start slow, laying the foundation of the series so to speak, but it gets better. I love the series.

Anne | 25 comments I read it - it took quite a while to get into it - there were a lot of different characters and they were hard to follow and figure out. Not the best thing I have ever read - I want to read the next to see what happens, but, if it does not pick-up, that may be the last one read in this series.

I am 13% done with Kim Harrison's Dead Witch Walking and I like that one even less than Touch the Dark.

Not sure why either of these books were choosen.

Angie Outland (angie_outland) | 15 comments I am going to try Kim Harrison's Dead Witch Walking again. I have the entire series. I tried reading it before, but lost interest. Sometimes I have to be in the mood for certain books.

Sam (librarymouse81) Well, I will be looking forward to it picking up soon.

The BOTM and series readthrough are based on your votes, so enough people liked or wanted to read these books. We have 55 members but we only get about 10 votes on the polls. Towards the end of the month look for the next thread for suggestions and then the poll.

Pamela Kulczyk | 8 comments I wasn't entirely thrilled with Dead Witch Walking either. It was ok. I've read a couple more and they do get a little better but I only start reading the next one when I have no other books I want to read.

Sam (librarymouse81) Haha...if I went by that philosophy I would never get around to it. My TBR pile is over 800 books long.

Right now I'm struggling to finish reading Touch the Dark, and I haven't yet started Dead Witch Walking, because the other ones I'm reading are just a little more interesting. Nevertheless, I will finish; I only very rarely fail to finish a book.
