I don't know if a book about a feast moving is supossed to be fun or scary... I keep seeing a vision of my feast ( plate of yummy food ) growing legs and running away from me :O) Yeah a little funny... I know :O)
Haha me too! The title is rather misleading! But I think that the moveable feast is actually la reference to the feast of knowledge and intellectuality. Hemingway and other Americans in Paris (there were lot at the time) were part of a close-knit community of writers that dodged around Europe just being awesome, writing and eating and drinking & clubbing :P
Ah but see there was food and drink attached to this book :O) Sounds like an interesting read either way :o)

I started it today! So far the descriptions of Paris and the life then, abound!

Weren't there picnics in meadows with his lovers? I read this many years ago, but I do remember that part. It might have been wife #1.....I think he had about 3 wives at leasst.
So far he mentions his wife, some friends and famous people tnat were in Paris at the time..and yes, he made a lot of things with his wife , including picnics! : p
So, I finished it and here's my review: Although this book won't be in my favorites, it was a beautiful ride through Hemingway's memories during his stay in Paris of the 20s..
The descriptions of the places, people and activities are so vivid that make you want to catch the first plane or a time machine and appear in the middle of the city! Various artists, authors, poets and the like, parade through this writing. (for example, a big part of the book is about his experiences and friendship with Ezra Pound and Scott Fitzgerald)
One thing that Hemingway clarifies in this book, in my opinion of course, is that the best things in life are not things! It is Spring, walks, smells, sounds, reading, writing, people, memories, experiences, and anything that makes each one of us special and our lives worth living for.
P.S : Always read the book on a full stomach or during picnics and such..or else raids in the pantry are unavoidable!

I found it on Amazon and with quite few different covers and languages but I was looking for maybe a free copy since it is an older book. Money is a bit tight, we don't have a library, and I was hoping to get in on the chat for this one since it sounds so interesting. Are any of the sites above free copies?

So I just started reading this and the description is breathtaking. I feel like this should be a new rule:"Always always always always read Hemingway in the spring or while moving" I feel like those are the times at which I can connect with Hemingway's vision the best! Although I'm not very deep into the novel yet I've already found some quotes that are just simply marvelous"

I agree, it has beautiful quotes! ...and it makes you glad that you are reading it while it is spring :-)
Oh ok I will check both these sites out. I really want to read this book now more than before. With the way you are all talking about it I feel like I am really missing out :O)
