Do religious people refuse to accept science?

Mh... You could say so. If he/she isn't sorry for their sins.
Now that is a very, very touchy subject and I think most of us would prefer to not go into it at least I would not like to, the hateful things that might ensue from this topic it is just best if we stay off it bit thats all I had to say so take it or leave it your choice.

other religions have different methods to wash their sins nobody wants to pay for their sins :)

niceeee. Thats a gr8 way to sum it up without offending others.

For example, one of our biology teachers at school has been working there for years, yet they are a strong Christian. They even hold Christian clubs at lunch time (with cake). Now, when it comes to teaching evolution and such, they explain it well. They teach everything in the curriculum and are able to answer questions upon this subject, as is expected of them. So no matter how big religion has an impact on their life, they still chose to teach science. And that means they accept scientific beliefs- their whole career path is based on this- so I feel that just because you are religious, it doesn't mean that you cannot accept scientific reasoning.

nice way to put it. Now i see no need in arguing since you and Som have summed it up erfectly! :)

Well said. It was respectful, but made got your point across. Good job!

Off topic, but I like cake. A lot. I am now jealous of the Christian group.
And... another well said post.

... Hm.... God loves us all. the only reason why we would go to Hell is because we purposely turn away from him. I really, really, really don't think that this all-loving, all-powerful God would send someone to Hell because they were gay and not even give them a chance. I say this politely, just to express myself, but I am not a gay/lesbian person, and don't really like the fact that rainbows are now representing gay people. And the fact that my city is painting roads rainbow for gay people. Maybe it's because I'm Catholic. But the Pope says there's no point of hating this, so I'm trying to embrace it. Back on topic, if God were really to be casting every single gay person to Hell, he wouldn't be the God I believe in and love. He wouldn't be all loving that way.

she means that she is jealous that they get to eat cake, and well she obviously like cake... so....

she means that she is jealous that they get to eat cake, and well she obviously like cake... so...."
yup.

I DID say that the post was going to be off topic.

I'm pretty sure the God that Christians, in general, believe in does not support these things whatsoever. You can do things in the Lord's name, but that will not mean he actually supports it. The only living person that can actually do things in God's name and have God fully support him is the Pope. Or so I believe, as the Pope is infallible.

Oh. I see, Sorry for the misunderstanding on my part. I'm pretty sure a person won't go to Hell for telling someone to go to Hell. Unless they meant it. but I'm not sure. It's just what I think.

uuhh... you should probably read nicole's comment above so you understand

THEY GET CAKE."
This is really off topic, but they do get a lot of cake. I accidentally went in there once at lunchtime, and they were having a party listening to pop hymns and eating lots of cake. I was so jealous.

OH MY GOSH. PLEASE. I NEED SOME CAKE. NOW.

Haha, it's ok. I don't understand them either.

The Earth is far, far older than 6000 years. Humanity is far older than 6000 years. Everything is older than sixthousand years.
(Everything as a singular there.)

Actually, that is definitly true, b/c even if someone is sorry for their sins but doesn't believe that Jesus died for us (to cleanse us from our sins)... then they can not make it to heaven.
..... An Atheist can totally go to Heaven. I never said they couldn't.
And just because an evildoer believes in God, it does NOT mean they can go to heaven. They will spend a heck of a long time in Purgatory, a place where the soul goes through a cleansing fire for a LONG time, to get the marks of sin out of the soul, so they are clean enough to enter Heaven. How I see it is: the more sin you commit, the longer time in purgatory. And, well, if you're not sorry for what you did, you're going all the way down.
