So say He did, that doesn't change anything.

Exactly. this guy on YouTube kept telling me how the Bible was actually a book of horrors, with all the raping and killing, but that several THOUSAND years ago. Life was WAY different then.

Or: Would you stay away from a woman when she's on her period, because she's unholy? Or have a servant give birth to your children in place of your spouse? I think not. The ideals in the OT are outdated. But it's important because all of it foretells the coming of Jesus.

Sasha Ivashkov-Herondale-Jackson (aka Clarisse) (sasha101) | 175 comments i dont think all religious ppl refuse to accept science. Its just some religions that oppose some of the scientific theories.

For example: Christians may blieve in the creation story, and refuse the evolution thoery bcuz it goes against their beliefs.

But i DONT think all religions oppose science.

True. I believe that both evolution and the creation story happened. I think that God didn't just POOF everything out. I believe that HE made evolution occur, slowly and over time.

Thats wat my religion believes too. Except that, we beleive that God(s) has started life, not neccessarily on Earth, but in the Universe, and well it found its way to Earth. I think the beleif is similar to the Panspermia theory of how life started on Earth.

message 227: by notyourfriend (new)

notyourfriend (amemori) | 147 comments Creation lasted for 7 days. That is where we get our days in the week. But the point Im making it that the Bible says 7 days. Evolution says it took millions of years or something, right? Well, I saw a movie once that was called The Genesis Code. In the movie there is a girl who is a Christian & she befriends this boy who believes that you can't believe in science & believe in God, just one or the other. So, the girl tells her older brother, who has also stopped believing, (& he is a genius) to think & do experiments or whatever to see if maybe they are wrong & you could believe in both, as she does. So in the end, her brother & the boy both start to believe again because the brother makes this statement: The Bible says it took 7 days. Evolution says millions of years. Maybe they are BOTH right. Maybe for God it took that long, but down on Earth, time moves slower so it took longer from a human point of view.

So I just wanted to share that because that is proof right there that "religious people" don't refuse to accept science. & just to make this clearer, Christianity is a way of life, it's not a "religious" game show.

message 228: by notyourfriend (new)

notyourfriend (amemori) | 147 comments People confuse Christians for Catholics and Catholics for Christians. There are big differences between us. Catholics make it all about religion & money & all that stuff. We, Christians, make it all about Jesus. We don't play religion because that would be a waste of time. It's all about what the Lord has done for us.

message 229: by notyourfriend (new)

notyourfriend (amemori) | 147 comments You're right. You can judge like that. Some Christians just are pretenders. You see them around a lot. But no, Christians aren't judgemental homophobes. Yes, it is wrong to judge. We should all try not to judge others. Especially followers of Jesus. But you must remember, we are all human. We make mistakes. But THANK GOD, we are forgiven!

Where'd you get that from? Don't take things out of context & twist the real reason anything in the Bible is written.

message 232: by notyourfriend (new)

notyourfriend (amemori) | 147 comments Its saying that it's wrong to be a prostitute & it's wrong to rape someone.

message 233: by notyourfriend (new)

notyourfriend (amemori) | 147 comments Sorry! Didn't see Kaylee's quote. As for that, it means because as you should know, Adam & Eve were the first humans. Then they sinned against God & he banished them from the garden. For before that, they never felt sorrow or pain. Well, since they messed up, they had to deal now with the messed up world. One thing was that Eve would now feel pain when she would give birth as during the times she wasn't pregnant, she would have a "discharge of blood". It's just saying that basically it's unclean because that is the result of a the sin that took.place.

message 234: by notyourfriend (new)

notyourfriend (amemori) | 147 comments Yea, I know. It sucks. But that's just the way it is. The Devil fills the Earth. But the good thing is that God has given us an easy way to be forgiven of our sins so we won't have to pay the cost, which would be our lives. All you gotta do is accept Jesus as your Lord & Savior. & then we can look foward to the day when there will be no more tears. No more pain....

message 236: by Jason (new)

Jason | 42 comments Paigetwo *Caitlyn* wrote: "Why question the Creator of all things?"

Maybe because we are humans, and we are on the quest for knowledge. Saying "Why question?" is very stupid. You obviously have no care for any important information or any high-level thinking.

I understand you believe in God, and I respect that. But it blows my mind when people like you say "Why question?".

There is a reason children aren't all growing up to be scientists, historians, mathematicians, ect. "Christians" like you are a cancer for the population when you try to make everything seem like its magic.

how is Christianity a way of life? Buddhism is a way of life, but Christianity most obviously beleives/preches that there IS a higher power; God.

excuse me? U said it is wrong to judge, and YES i agree with you... but if i remember correctly, in oneof your previous comments (when ppl were talking about hinduism in this thread) u suddenly commented saying that
"The Indian god isn't the same as my God. He is the only true God. My God walks on water, heals the blind & lame, loves even those who hate Him. Jesus died on the cross fot everybody's sin & on the third day He defeated death & rose. No offense, but tell me, what other "god" has done that. All that have claim, yet they still lie in their tombs. I have news, guys. Jesus is coming back someday & when he does, he will finish the Devil himself.

do u see? Its kind of seems like you were saying that Hinduism (and other religions apart from the one you beleive in) are wrong.

Im sorry, if i sounded rude or whatevz, but you seemed like you were contradicting yourself, and when i read ur previous comments i found them offensive, since you worded them in such a way.
