How does this work? I haven't ever done a group before.

Well, you create a character, then I approve it if it is appropriately done. Then, you go to one of the (future) topics, such as "Town Square", and type up your character's actions. Quite fun, really.

Also, one last question: I've noticed that it's set in London, but you also mention sorcery in the description. Is it strictly realistic, or is there some actual magic and fantasy involved?

Sorry this wasn't specified. Rank, as in, "noble", "peasant", "royal", or "aristocrat". Occupation, as in "king", "queen", or "artisan".

Nobles are higher in rank than aristocrats. The ranks of the nobles include dukes, duchesses, marquesses, etc. Aristocrats are like the mashing pot of vassals, and lower-ranked, but still immensely wealthy, such as richer merchants and artists.
