Read the very first thread by Beatrice for the instructions. What you saw are our own personal picks for the challenge.
Well, all you have to do is pick 8 of the 10 numbers. However, don't peek at what the topic under the numbers is. Then you pick a book with that topic in it. You can use books you already have on your shelf, books your borrow, ebooks, or new books.

I only just looked at these, sorry. Chose 1, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10. But I feel I am going to fail. Could someone explain to an old man sadly out of touch with the modern world - what is the difference between Young adult and New adult? Otherwise I will choose :
Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee: An Indian History of the American West
The Penelopiad
The Sorceress
A Devil's Chaplain
The Hunger Games
3 more to find ......

@ Andy New Adult are novels that center around ages of 18-25 I believe. It varies from perspective. However, to be honest, I believe that it is just a young adult novel(sub-par YA novel at that) with sex. The only difference between the two is the age, in my opinion. If you look in Izzy's post she has a novel that is classified as new adult. ^_^@Izzy: Great Choices! I love both This Is Not A Test and Legend. ^_^ Beautiful Disaster was Okay, I gave it 3 stars.
@Ebony : Thanks! Any recommendations what to read in this genre?

The amateur readers (Izzy, Ebony and myself) are miles behind the real professionals (Beatriz, Marian and Questian). But do we care? No!!!! It is all part of a "cunning plan" to make them feel overconfident whilst sneaking up on them at the last minute having read Lord of the Rings in an hour ......

That's what I thought so Andy. Hahaha! You're quietly reading 1000+ paged book and while we're confident of winning, but by the end of the month, you'll surprise us with that update. Snatching the title, like a buzzer beater! hahaha!

Oh..I dunno about that professional thing..I'm currently hooked with short stories. Oh, Philip K. Dick, why did he have to die so early. He's like the god of Science fiction..I'm frequenting book shops hoping to get his short story collections, but to no avail, I have to content myself with his free classic ebooks on Aldiko :(
Professional reader? I don't think so. I just love reading especially when i'm hooked with it. I tend to finish it fast but I'm not a fast reader. It really depends on the book I'm reading. :)
♥~Marian~♥ wrote: "Liane- Have you seen World War Z movie trailer?? Looks awesome!"Yes, Marian, I saw the trailer of World War Z on a foreign hollywood news.. kinda thing.. I forgot the name of the show! Grrr! I'm planning to read the book soon! hehe... Hope it's a good one!
Zombies...zombies...zombies... I love them now! hahahaha
me, abnormal reading mode! Sometimes, when I'm bored with the book it took ages, but I still want to finish it cos I dont want the book to feel sad and useless! hahahahaAnd I'm happy I joined this group at least got some reason to read and to read and to read and be happy! I love the reading challenge! Thanks everyone!
hey. liane!! glad you like it!! we'll be cooking up something if this goes okay, so, hold on to your hats....
Okay, I was in a reading slump because of a book. However, now I am reading Across the Universe, which is really good. Now I should be able to get back on track!
☼~Marian~☼ wrote: "Ebony: AtU is on my TBR list. Might be reading it next month."You REALLY should read it. I mean I have been putting it off ever since it came out and now I am so angry at myself. SO GOOD!
Thanks Ebony for saying Across The Universe is good! I want to hear some feedback! hahaha I'm planning to read that! (^_^)
There are only 3 AtU series, right? I hate to read incomplete series. Up til now I'm waiting for GRRM Martin to wrap up Song of Fire and Ice series. and I admit, I still need to recall what happened to the characters in Dance with the Dragons.
You've read all the books on that Song of Fire & Ice series! Wow! Me, still...nope! I want to read it when I'm 100% free, so I can concentrate and I can get everything in my head! hehe.
☼~Marian~☼ wrote: "Watch this short film. I dunno if you already seen this, I shared it on my FB: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gryenl..."I watched it CARGO! My golly! Thinking of being in that situation kinda freaks me out though I wanted to be in that situation except that you're with your child! I would love to read a book with that kind of story. :(
