Fragments Buddy Read!

I hear you, Jenny, I didn't realize there was another book and at the the end, I was so annoyed that there was a 6th and then when I found it was a 2014 release, I about exploded! I think I didn't read the Infernal Devices until now due to some weird protest I was doing all by myself. Hehehee...

With the POV's, I was so engrossed with the story, I didn't notice those types of things too much as I just kept reading and flipping pages. I only fell out of the story a few times and it was due to too much detail and the story slowed down.

Because I have family today (great-nephew's bday), I stayed up until the wee hours and finished this! :-D

For when you get 73% in(view spoiler)[I did not understand the purpose of dragging Afa with them after he was so hurt and then having him die! What was the reasoning for that in the story? His death wasn't built up, it just happened with no fanfare or emotions. Nothing. (hide spoiler)]

Karen, I agree, but I have to say - (view spoiler)[ I was completely bewildered when it happened - I kept thinking 'how in the world are they going to access the computer files when they get to Denver?' And although it happened without any fanfare, it did set up the whole conversation between Heron and Kira regarding the validity of the mission. Although - what was the point of turning around when they'd already come so far? Nobody seemed to mention that. Even though Heron thought it had been stupid to make the trip, her only solution seemed to be to turn around and go back. Like that wouldn't kill them! And it didn't seem like a solution Heron would posit, with her spy and calculating background. I bet that was a hard scene to write with all those considerations. Kudos to Dan Wells for finding a way through it at all. (hide spoiler)]

I am chomping at the bit to read Clockwork Princess. Such a departure since the first book was so boring for me. It must have been the narrator. The series is just so good, I can't wait to find out what happens! I may have to read ahead!

Aww thank you! I'm at 68% now and definitely happy the Marcus chapters are back. Oh and I had a thought and wanted your perspectives: Kira is so strongly focused on saving BOTH groups, which i love. Do you think Kira would be this way if she didn't find out she was a Partial? Or if she wasn't a Partial? I like to think she still would but I fear she wouldn't.

Lol I was hoping you'd come around! I was pretty surprised when I heard you didn't enjoy the first book. I love this series and in glad you're into it too. The second book was AWESOME :)

That's a thought. I think she would still be trying, just because of her relationship with Samm. She learned that Partials are not inherently evil, they are just like people--some make good decisions, some make bad. She is just so brave! I love that about her!

Kira must have had a lot of the empathy gene thrown in her mix! ;). I love that her main purpose always is to save as many as she can, no matter who or what!

I finished it!! (view spoiler)[ WOAH! That was just craziness at the end! I was right, Dr. Vale was keeping Partials for the cure! And I do think Kira is the link that will solve this whole problem. And her sisters were Paritals, too! I'm so glad she and Samm FINALLY kissed! About time! Still lots of questions: How would the second failsafe be triggered? Where is Kira's Dad? I think he's still alive somewhere! (hide spoiler)]

I finished!!! Omg!!! So freaking good I can't even explain how much I liked the last 50%! What a plot Wells has cooked up in this one. Amazeballs! I've got no clue what's going to happen or how much more could possibly be revealed in the 3rd book because soooo much was revealed in this one :)

I just finished Isolation and I am glad I picked it up! It gave so much insight into the Partials. I was surprised how truly emotionless Heron was. She really is the perfect weapon. I am starting Fragments tomorrow!

okay i am 8% into Fragments and so far I am really enjoying it. I like the multiple point of views.

Also something I was wondering about after reading Isolation (view spoiler)[ in Isolation Heron learns that the humans are basically the leaders above all the partials, but then how did they actually start a war with humans? I mean every partial knew and learned this, so I wonder what exactly happen to set the war with the humans in motion. The events in Isolation are only the start (hide spoiler)]
