I have had the same problem. I don't want to count them but want them to show as abandoned. I think I have solved it by removing the date and then it won't show up in a yearly count.

This is very helpful as I didn't know about the "exclusive" box.

I have not read any of her books. I have a few on my kindle and Liz has read them. Liz will focus on an author and read every one of his/her books.

I am tempted by Scotland The Best but noticed the most recent is 2016. I will hold off to see if they update it. This looks like an interesting series.

Not sure how convenient an App would be. I spent a fortune on data charges on my last trip because I (stupidly) neglected to turn off apps during my first few days in Edinburgh. Eek!

I just picked up one of my birthday presents to read Astral Weeks: A Secret History of 1968. It has mixed reviews on GR but seeing that it is my favorite album, and the author is from Boston, I am finding plenty, so far, to like.

I read the blurb.... well, it is rather confusing, i must say.

Interesting. Challenging in which way?
I was quite taken aback purely by the plot :))

It is almost 400 pages and neither people, or the city are named. It makes little sense if the reader knows nothing about the Troubles or Belfast, because that explains why what she is doing is so crazy, and explains the avoidance of naming. It reminded me of Ulysses by Joyce. I thought it was brilliant. I do not believe that books have to be universally appealing to be great books. There is genius in creating the book she has. Here's my review:

Thank you for sharing your review, Barbara. it shed some light for me. i had totally different perception from the blurb. whatever it is, it seems to be an unusual take on the things.
the 400 pages... well, that might be difficult at times. i find when the books starts to feel too long, it is good sometimes to take a break, and if it is indeed a good read, i get back to it with doubled enthusiasm.

A reason I like to use the library is that if I decide a book is not for me, the only cost is my time (and a little bit of petrol) going to the library.

Good point. She was something new 14 or 15 years ago but that can't go on endlessly.
