I have heard it is possible to view notes and highlights I have made on my Kindle 2, or Kindle Keyboard, on my computer but I have never found where. It's not in Manage My Kindle on the Amazon site, which is where I would expect to find it. Is that possible? It would be nice to print them out before my book group.

kindle.amazon.com does not show annotations you've made to non-Amazon content ('personal documents').
Yes, I knew about the calibre trick, but it has always struck me as pure luck that it continues to work and I would not want to rely on it. Amazon should just fix personal documents service to work with kindle.amazon.com (I periodically send kindle-feedback to that effect).

I know I'm late to the game here, but I had a kindle keyboard that started to have battery problems. I called amazon to ask if I could replace the battery and they looked at my device in their system and the guy on says "you have 253 books on your kindle?" [I can't remember the number, but it was hundreds.] I had a good handful of books and approximately 175 samples. I used to like to keep samples as a way of remembering what books to read later. He explained that every book or sample that you have on a device eats up battery because of "indexing". (I thought he said it was because of "checking for updates", but when I googled around the other day to refresh my memory, it seems it's because of "book indexing".) But he explained that each book is constantly trying to check with the server to update/index. So I deleted all but a handful of books and my battery has been perfect ever since.
I've been meaning to actually call them to refresh my memory on exactly what the issue was (was it indexing or checking for updates?) because I had written a post about this on my blog. Hope this helps! :)

That's interesting! What I ended up doing was just deleting all books by doing a factory reset and starting over, so if a book was hung up on trying to index, then that would have fixed it. You make a very good point. It did seem odd to me that indexing would be something that was an ongoing process, and it also seemed odd that "checking for updates" would keep happening. If a book does have an update, I get an email and then I have to manually go get the new version. So your point makes sense. Thanks!
