Have any of you read anything by Christine Wells or Gail Ranstrom? I've never heard of them before.

new_user I have Wells on my TBR, but I'd like to know too. What kind of style she has... I've seen her name frequently.

NU I was actually going to ask you about them because they're supposed to be Regency Noir --but the ratings aren't that great for her :(

new_user Hmm, well now I'm more interested in checking her out. I didn't realize she wrote regency noir. Actually, after looking at her prof, it looks like she only has two books out and they're described as "light," so now I'm not so sure. :/

"Light" is certainly not how I'd interpret "regency noir" either :-/

new_user East, I've heard some things to suggest that Patricia Gaffney might write along noir lines. She's even in this on Amazon. I haven't read her yet.

Eesh NU stay away from Patricia Gaffney because she was described to me as gothic so I picked up her book Lily and god was it ever bad! Endless narration with a meandering story. That's supposed to be one of her "best" ones --she's off my list of authors to read if that was supposed to be good :-/

Lily by Patricia Gaffney

new_user Yikes! That book was her "noir" one too. Hm, she's recommended a lot, but I don't have a lot of patience for meandering stories, LOL.

Miss Kim (thatsmisskimtoyou) What is Regency Noir?

It's the darker regency with a questionable almost gamma hero. Anna Campbell's Claiming the Courtesan is a perfect example.

Claiming the Courtesan by Anna Campbell

I've got that one in my 'on deck' pile. Thanks!
